Any more talk about SS?

I'm not really going to have to watch Iglesias hit every night am I? That just seems unfair to human eyes.

With a lineup that is still not complete they have something like this 1-9...

Ellsbury
Pedroia
Ortiz
Middlebrooks
Napoli
Salty/whoever is the catcher
Gomes
Kalish
Iglesias

They still will likely add another OF or 2 and possibly a SS which could be played based on the matchup.
Your dreaming, or does winning 72 games next season indicate improvement? Bucholz can't stay healthy and Lester has lost interest in Boston. Lackey is going to win 30 games or something? This team looks like a train wreck waiting to happen next year. Should be great watching.

that lineup

I'd be shocked if Cherington doesn't add another big bat this offseason.

He will.

If the bottom 4 is Salty, Gomes, Kalish and Iglesias, that is the worst bottom 4 I can possibly imagine. Kalish and Iglesias just can not be regulars on the same team. That's unacceptable.

Kalish is gonna get a shot to be a regular, IMO.

He's not even 25 years old, and his last offseason was ruined by shoulder surgery. He'll eventually be OK.

I'm definitely interested in Cabrera. In 2014, our OF could then be Bogaerts/JBJ/Hamilton

Really really.

I would do ONE with a combination of a pitcher and a lower prospect. By not both of them.

As is, the Blue Jays offense is projected to hit 187 hr, 780rbi, 200 db. This is the standard to beat. Sox are still in the basement they need an A bat and a B bat. This is a 2 yr project

i'm watching the 2005 mlb seasons that i recorded last night.

they just showed the pujols homer off lidge. that and the bonds homer off washburn in the 2002 world series are the two hardest balls i've ever seen hit.

they're really skipping world series highlights, which is unfortunate because the 05 series was really really fun. it was the first world series i watched with the future mrs terwilliger.

bartolo winning the cy that year was a travesty too. mariano finishing ahead of johan was a joke.

santana pitched nine more innings than bartolo. he also had the lower era (by a run and a half), 35 fewer hits and 81 more strikeouts. he unfortunately only won 16 games because the twins were kind of ******.

What if we did not trade for Gonzalez and Crawford took less to play for the Angels, then signed Pujols last offseason?

I remember watching that game. Bonds absolutely killed that thing.

I'd trade any prospects for Felix. Wouldn't think twice.

I don't even care if the player they sign is an "impact outfielder". Hamilton, Swisher, Victorino, Ross, Kalish, Nava, etc. Doesn't matter to me.

The main focus should be pitching, pitching, and more pitching. The team was fifth in runs and sixth in OPS and still lost 93 games. I'm much more concerned about the starting rotation than I am about who will be batting sixth after Ellsbury, Pedroia, Ortiz, Middlebrooks, and Napoli.

We apparently have a pretty good amount of interest in Shane Victorino. That would be an interesting pickup. He loves playing baseball.

Another short term, no draft pick signing. I'm all for it. Just avoid swisher.

The Sox were also dead last in all of baseball in runs scored after the Punto trade. They've got to work on the rotation AND the offense. They're equally important.

Again, the best thing for the Red Sox would be for Farrell and Nieves to solve whatever's wrong with Lester and to get something useful out of Lackey.
