If they are actually getting close, you wouldn't expect an owner, player, the Fehr Bros or Bettman or Daly to say anything at this point. The next big news will come from one of the big reporters either shooting it down or pumping more life into it.

Haggarty just said on sportsnet central new england his "in the know sources" say its not true but very interesting.

It seems that all these reporters have their own " in the know" sources all saying different things

And I was just finally accepting that the season was over....

I agree with the people saying there has to be something to this. Find it really odd none of the TSN guys have even acknowledged this on twitter, and going on TV reporting something as bold as this with your credibility on the line is way too risky for anyone to do if they don't legitimately know something.

Uploading the more in depth report so stay tuned.

WBZ is the flagship station of the Bruins.

Ive seen Burton on my local news for my whole life. I like the guy. Tough to put toooo much stock into it fully right now, but enough to grasp onto and hope for.

If you don't deny or say anything, you basically confirm the report. Every one will deny until a deal is announced.

Apparently a pretty legit Boston sports reporter. Other people have said he's credible. Who knows

You rock.

Any chance you can give a brief summary of the in-depth report while it uploads?

Anytime! I am very skeptical but in my heart I know Burton wouldn't be saying this stuff if he didn't have a reliable source.

If this all turns out to be false, I already have the next one...

He's been around forever. More of a football/Patriots guy, though.

My only beef with him is that I cleaned his golf clubs when I was 15 at the course I worked at after a round and he didn't give me a tip. Cheap mother****er.

Reiterates what's already been reported and also has the Looch interview with him saying if this is indeed what has happened.

Lets hope it's true, and even if it's a bit longer, it has to put pressure on both sides.

I'm gonna sign off on this good note, hope to hear good stuff in the coming days.

Even if it turns out to be nothing again, what's the harm of hoping the tooth fairy arrives for the next couple of days? Beats staying bitter all the way through.

I agree with this. I remember in January 2004, EJ Hradek on ESPN was 100% sure he was right about hearing the lockout was coming to an end. That clown never came back on air to apologize for his false and WRONG info. I doubt Bettman or Fehr would allow info like this to slip out.

If this is false two things will happen,

1) Steve will apologize for being hacked.

2) People will start cutting themselves.

I've felt for awhile that whenever the deal get done, it would be something completely out of blue and a result of a meeting that was pretty much a secret.

So this report would fit the bill.

I find it a bit odd that none of the TSN insiders have said anything either way.

In an odd way all the hockey writers going dark gives me hope it's true, maybe Bettman and Fehr have locked them in a dark room until this is over

Well, he would then also have to apologize for being possessed because he went on TV to report this news as well.
