Devin Setoguchi-Steven Stamkos-Correy Perry

Captain; Ryan Suter
Alternates; Steven Stamkos, Mikko Koivu

1st line - What can be said about a Stammer and Perry combo? Seto is a great fit too as he can keep up with Stammer on the rush.
2nd line - This is a great defense first unit. Mikko is one of the better two way centreman out there, then you have LaRose and Brouwer who can line up on either side and both play unique physical games. LaRose is that speedy forechecker and Brouwer is that big physical power forward.
3rd line - an ideal line for Granlunds debut. Smith Pelly is set to be a physical force, strong against the boards, strong on the puck, and can punish in the open ice. On Granlund's right you have a finisher in D'Agostini who is not far from his 1st 20 goal season as a pro. Granlund adds that elite hockey sense this line would sorely need.
4th line - This line would see limited minutes. Two PKers in Bonino and Langenbrunner, and a scrapper or agitator in Kassian or Bulmer ready to suit up on the left.
1st pair - Suter and Gilbert are reunited from their college days. Suter is a perennial Norris threat, and Gilbert has shown in the past that he has that higher gear both for defensive play and for scoring.
2nd pair - Pitkanen is a very smooth skating offensive guy and Scandella is the resident two-way "minute muncher". These guys would compliment each other well.
3rd pair- Stoner and O'brien will be the shut-down pair. O'brien has shown he can jump up for the odd rush when need be.
Nets- Backstrom and Neuvirth will be a great tandem. These guys should battle for starts and Backstrom will have to show what he has left in the tank.
Powerplay - Stamkos-Granlund-Perry-Pitkanen-Koivu/Setoguchi-D'agostini-Brouwer-Suter-Gilbert should be enough to have one of the better PP in the league.

Maybe the best 1-2-3 center punch in this game, with two PPG guys in Claude Giroux and Eric Staal, and a young elite shutdown center in Sean Couturier. A solid goaltender in Humongous Universe. A Norris-winning defenseman in Erik Karlsson and a ton of really solid defensive guys.
Vote for Stanley Cup! As you all know, the key to the Cup is elite center depth (Kopitar-Richards-Stoll or Krejci-Bergeron-Kelly or Toews-Sharp-Bolland or Crosby-Malkin-Staal) and a Norris-caliber defenseman at the top of the d-corps (Doughty or Chara or Keith or Lidstrom).

Vote Sabres for the CUP!
We have an upgraded offense, including a new top-line center in Jeff Carter (two cup runs; losing to the Hawks in 2010 and winning with the Kings last year!) With Parenteau feeding Vanek and Carter all year! Cup veteran Brian Gionta on the second line! And a third and fourth line of players who will hit teams into the ground and can score! If the top two lines are struggling, either Simmonds, Ott or Latendresse can be promoted to inject energy! The fourth line includes faceoff specialist and PKer Malhotra as well as huge hitter Torres and fighter Kaleta!
The d-core includes a great mix of defensive (Gorges, Klesla, O'Byrne) and offensive (Ehrhoff, Leddy, Jovo) players who will be essential on the special teams!
In net, we have a dynamic duo in Rask and Anderson. They will split the regular season (~50 Rask, ~30 Anderson) which will keep Rask fresh for a long post-season run! If he falters, Anderson will be ready to take the reins!

Call ups (2-way)
Cheechoo-750k
Porter- 650k
1st line- This line would be very hard to stop. Krejci is a great player who had 62 pts. last year, St Louis on the wing had 74 pts in 77 games last year and the year before he had 99 pts. Put Oshie on the wing and he turns into a 80+pt player.
2nd line- Backes is a elite defensive player. He was nominated for the selke trophy last year while putting up 54 pts. and 64 the year before. Horton is a winger who can get 50+pts. while being a defensive force, hitting everyone out there. Tanguay is a scorer who had 50pts in 64 games last year and had 70 the year before. He also provides playoff experience scoring twice in game 7 of the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals.
3rd line - Alex Steen is a incredibly underrated player. He is great defensively and had 34 pts. in 43 games last year with 50 in 70 the year before. Andy McDonald has had health issues the last few years, but there is no denying that when he is healthy he is a great scorer. Last year he had 22pts. in 25 games and the year before he had 50 in 58. Peverley is a solid two-way player, he had 42 pts. In 57 games last year.
4th line - Wellwood is a great defensive player while putting up 18 goals last year and 47 pts. Sobotka is a young player excellent defensively and had a respectable 30 pts. in 65 games. Arnott is a vet who can provide very valuable leadership with 400 career goals and 904 pts. as well as a good 34 pt season last year.
1st pair- Byfuglien-Chara. Both 50+pts. Both excellent defensively. Both Homoungous. That is all.
2nd pair- Shattenkirk is one of the league’s top young, two-way defenseman in the league.Scoring 42 pts. last year and being solid defensively. Barret Jackman is extremely solid defensively and a great leader.
3rd pair- Corvo scored 40 pts. a year ago and can handle defensive responsibilities. Brewer is a pure defensive defenseman and one of the best in the game.
Goalie- Halak is a great goalie who has proven he can step up his game and be elite in the play-offs.(see:Montreal 2009)

Goaltending we have a 1-2 punch tandem with either able to carry a team through a lengthy playoffs.
Defense with have a rugged backend. 3 guys who can step up and pot 20pts a season by far. I like that these guys are shutdown style but have the offensive flair which each back end needs now in the NHL to be successful. We feel are group on defense are hard working group and are willing to put in all the work needed for the W at the end of the day rather than just being all offense and no defense.
Forwards are a great group of all skill. The top two lines have premier centers in the league which are key in a long regular season as well as the playoffs. Landeskog and Duchene will compliment Stastny well. Where as shutdown two way center Bergeron will have the likes of young scorer Jamie McGinn and veteran star winger Milan Hejduk, who will be looking at one last hoorah before leaving the game.
The bottom too lines are key for me. We have a gritty 3rd line filling in with David Jones, Saku Koivu centering, and feisty winger Steve Downie to make a complete Relentless in your face line who can all score. Followed by a hard hitting and fast skating fourth line who will be a dump and chase then crash and bang line. Exactly what is needed in the playoffs.
Or team has everything needed to go all the way.
Youth, Veterans, Leadership, Strong defense, offense, and goaltending. Unlike a lot of teams who bulk up on star players who can also be streaky we have hard working players who get the job done night in and night out.

Great teams are built down the middle, and no one can counter our punch of Getzlaf-Plekanec-Weiss-Goc. We have quality wingers as well, but particularly in our top 9, every line has a center that will be a huge facilitator. Our emphasis has been adding great offensive guys like Getzlaf, Ryan, Jokinen, Plekanec, and Gagne to the great two-way play of long-time Panthers like Goc, Smithson, Upshall, Kopecky, and Weiss.
On D, we have a great mix of youth and leadership. Campbell will mentor to Kulikov while Girardi and Kuba will mentor Gudbranson, leaving us with a great top 4 and a 3rd pairing of very under-rated players. We emphasized have D partners who compliment each other's games.
Jonas Hiller has been very good with a mediocre Anaheim D, so behind our corps, he will be lights out.
