I do want omark to succeed, and I have been a fan of his from the very start, but I do not think it will happen in Edmonton. I would say his worth is at maximum a 3rd, since we only got a late 2nd for Cogs.

Actually, Omark and Brunner were scoring at more or less the same rate before Zetterberg came to the team and now they are all scoring at the "same" rate in the same line... 3-5 goals a game... its madness even for the swiss league. =)
Sure, Zetterberg is proving the difference between a middle of the pack Zug and a league winning Zug but Omark and Brunner arent just passengers.
Maybe Omark has found his niche in Switzerland. I'm still not confident that he can make an NHL team, but who knows. Maybe the Swiss League will turn around his NHL career. Lockouts tend to do that for some players (Horcoff's career year after the last lockout I believe), although this has nothing much to do with the lockout.

Think the difference is that Omark was put in a position to succeed. Brunner was a top scorer in the league before Omark came and they seem to be a good fit. Adding Zetterberg took it another level or two. =)
It's also international sized rink with more open space to move. And although the speed is probably close to NHL, he's not facing against the top D men in the world. Good to get his confidence back.

Brunners first goal was a joke, if the goalkeepers in switzerland have that standard then are points made in switzerland not worth much! Hank to omark omark to brunner was a beauty.

Yeaah! and if the nhl seaon will be cancelled, there be almost impossible for omark to snach a spot! lw/rw daniel sedin,Lui eriksson,alfredsson,Franzén,Landeskog,hornqvist,,s teen,stahlberg,silvferberg. Omark would be on the reservlist if one of the pp wingers get injured and hes back in old shape. reservlist; hagelin,samuelsson,omark,paajarvi,lindstrom. The c spots would be Sedin,zetterberg,backstrom! and probably marcus johansson or maybe patric berglund. The 3 first c looking awful good, but canada and russia is favourites if everyone joins.

To be honest the media hype and the interest of the general hockey-fans is quite low. Much higher during lock-out season dough!

Not much prestige in winning it, but as Red Bull is it's main sponsor the cash prize is fine...

Omark is back after the holidays and the Channel One cup with Sweden. His performance in the national team was by most experts concidered to be not good enough to be a serious contender for a WC spot.
Omark was 1+1 in Zugs 5-2 loss against Davos some days ago.
