The hockey game I was invited to tonight sucked. I don't know why I just feel so awkward in a locker room with old farts and their totally lame jokes. I'm 44 myself, so I'm not exactly young but wtf is it that makes me feel so in the wrong place with these guys. I can have fun chats with kids in open hockey, and I can have incredible fun conversations with 80-yearolds, but not with these guys. Overweight, white, fairly welldoing NJ-dudes with republican leanings. Not my thing I guess. There is one guy I like, but he's asian. Go figure.

To my way of thinking, if I'm more than three inches taller than a girl, it's not a problem. Girls who would want to wear heels bigger than that are ones I probably would not be dating in the first place.

The picture itself wasn't a stunt, it was taken by a tourist from Arizona and neither the cop nor the "homeless" guy knew it was being taken.

But it looks like the guy chooses to go shoeless and begging, if he has an apartment. Some people are just crazy.

I feel very similar to this around young kids at open hockey lately... especially since you and I had a little chat a while back.

I think your native culture might be at play there as well, more than just an age thing.

have you tried shouting? have you been complaining enough? do you scream and moan about chipping in a dollar to pay the refs? do you chalk up their fees to a liberal agenda?

my offer: you give me 2 weeks of your time, Iíll have that locker room nominating you for mayor

The panhandler is using basic marketing skills - packaging your product to maximize returns. Appearance alone can induce an impulse decision.

He's hitting 2 of the 4 P's. If he has a sign I'll give him Promotion too. 3 out of 4 not bad.

Price
Product (Packaging is a major subset)
Place

Promotion

Yes, but at the expense of my tax dollars! He's living a sweet life, has a three bedroom condo in The Bronx and is getting all sorts of kickbacks and living assistance! Sure, I don't need any of those kickbacks, but it bunches my tighty-whities to see someone else getting them!!

I just saw a post about organic molecules.

That's a very real response... I love his weird thing of using Post It notes.

Yes, clearly; because it was I that injected racial identity, wrapped around a socioeconomic condition, while providing the name of a political party in that post.

Oh...... wait....., no it wasn't me.

Not to mention, most of them look horrible while doing so because they cant even walk in them. Looking crippled or spastic = not sexy. And it's hysterical any given Friday or Saturday night here in the city watching them attempt to avoid the landmine field of street grating. I've seen my share of faceplants and "woman down" events from street grate meets 6-inch heel" over the years and each time it's more hysterical than the next.

I met him up in Vermont once, he's even more socially awkward in person than you might think. Love his show though. Science + Food = Awesome.
