The Pirates and Steelers use black and yellow. Big difference to me - the Pens ruined a perfectly good looking jersey (with some RBK "design help" I'm sure).
And who are these "Expos" you speak of?
Not sure if you're joking here... Gold, yellow are in the same colour palet. Pens used yellow before changing to your so-called (vegas) gold. I think you get the jest of what I'm saying.
Ya know, when I first read the thread title I thought "who cares"? Then I gave it some thought and you know what, I think that the Stars should go red white and blue. It is the color of their state flag and they haven't any reason to keep tne old North Stars colors alive especially now that the Wild exist.
Why not go rwb?
Why not change the Logo while they are at it I mean the current one isn't anything special (no offence) really anyways and it might be a great way to usher in the entire new generation youth movement that they are going with in Dallas too.

In the world of color names...that yellow is actually named gold. Regardless all three belong to the gold pallette of colors, so whatever. I wish the Penguins would go back to the real gold color, but it does little to 'cheapen' the one city/one scheme thing.
Red, white, and blue is the most overdone color combo in hockey. The last thing we need is some team ditching a unique scheme for a tired scheme...especially not when basically ripping off the Capitals jerseys while inviting comparisons to the Blue Jackets in overall motif.
What the Stars need to do is kick the black to the curb and embrace the green and gold. It's a (sadly) unique scheme in the NHL (my favorite overall...and one only used by the Packers and Athletics in the big four) and, if they play it up instead of trying to be yet another team in black again then they have that unique brand that they want. You don't have to tear the whole thing down when you have a solid foundation...or used to, at least.

In my opinion that second one looks too much like a Washington home jersey and the top looks too much like a recent All-Star game jersey, not sure which year.
The colors are fine but there's probably better things they could do with them.
I second that, I felt it look too much like the Washington and the All star jersey.
Why not keep it Green and White. Just ****ing change the logo. Get a real Logo.
I can't think of one good reason why they should switch from an unused color scheme to one that's already being used by half the league. Stupidest idea I've ever heard of. Keep the original.
Green and Gold is a timeless look in any sport. However, I wish the Minnesota Wild would take on these colors instead so that they could represent the north stars as the only green team out of utmost respect. For example, if the Wild logo was green/gold/yellow instead of having red.
With that said, I still find the very first picture in this thread the sexiest of all Stars jerseys.

Just so people are clear, according to the latest reports the Stars aren't considering red white and blue at this stage. The OP posted an old article and an even older speculative blog entry.
Vancouver's primary colour is blue. Green and white are the accent (secondary) colours.
Anyways, please get away from black. I don't know what the Pacific division's fascination is with black (ANA home jersey, DAL home jersey, LAK home jersey, SJS alternate home jersey, PHX alternate home jersey) ...
This thread is hilarious. I swear there was just a poll done of ugliest jerseys in the NHL and Dallas was in the top 5 but now all of the sudden they're great jerseys. I know, I know it's possible that the people who voted in that poll aren't part of this thread but still... made me laugh.

Who here is saying Dallas currently has good, to say nothing of great, jerseys?
Being against a tired color scheme isn't the same thing as 'don't change anything, it's perfect as it is!'

Many people on the first few pages said it was a fine jersey. A lot of people also said go back to the 90s scheme. It was just an observation. I don't care either way.
I used to love Dallas's jerseys because I love green and I feel it's an underused color in the league. Obviously, the current jerseys suck. But I don't think the color scheme needs to change.
Would it even be possible for the Stars to return to their old star-shape jerseys? Or is Reebok unwilling to manufacture a design like that?
