If they are both deemed fair each on their own. Otherwise you guys are just circumventing the trade rules. Which I wont allow.

I think he was getting at that they have to be seperate trades, not one compensating for the other. The value would have to be good enough that youd want to do each trade if the other wasn't on the table. You said yourself you wouldn't do one without the other, the value just isn't there individually. Just rework it so that it is.

Why dont you just simplify the trade to make it fit under the rules?

To
Shea Weber (roster player)
Craig Smith (roster player)
4th

To
Kevin Shattenkirk (roster player)
Chris Stewart (roster player)
Ian Cole (prospect)

2 roster players each and 6 total pieces...just an example not saying either of you would do it, just saying its less of a headache and NOT bending the rules...also none of this scrum player garbage for contract purposes

Anyone looking for veteran bottom-six depth?

Or looking to move a defensive prospect for a similar forward prospect (3.5-4.0)?

Or looking to do one of these two things, and unload a fourth line center?

PM

Nearly 30 games into the season, I'm pretty happy with my roster. I've only got a few players listed as "untouchable," but I'm really not looking to make a major change in my top-six (including Nyqvist), and I'm likely to hold on to all three of my roster centers (Datsyuk, Filpulla, and Helm). I'm also not looking to move Mursak, who I expect to play a big role next season.

That leaves quite a few pretty good prospects, some nearer than others to being ready for an NHL role. Assuming nothing goes screwy injury wise in the next advance, I'm willing to use one of my two trades to swap a forward prospect for a similar defensive prospect--so a "near NHL-ready" player like Tatar (75 OV, 4.0) for a 74-76 defenseman of similar age / potential, or a project-type prosepct like Frk (19, 54, 3.5) for a project defenseman.

I don't want to use a separate deal, but I'm also interested in bringing in a true fourth line center to help with the simulated games--a J. Madden type guy, preferably on a one-year deal, or a cheapish multi-year contract.

Looking to package some of my defence for help up front;

Any one or two of;
Francios Beauchemin
Bryan Allen
Tony Lydman
Sheldon Souray

Could add one of these guys with a defender if necessary:
Teemu Selanne
Saku Koivu
Nick Hagman

For a a "Top 6" foward. Willing to take on NHL Ready youth in the 70's as well.

There's no way that Nashville would be adding to this deal. It would have to be Weber for Shattenkir, Stewart, Cole IMHO

That's an overpayment for Weber though, right? (at least in NHL13)

I mean, Shattenkirk gets to 87, right? Cole to at least 84, possibly 86. Stewart is a top-6 winger.

I don't think overalls put a true perspective on trades. Theres no number that can account for the impact some guys have in the game (just like in real life).

ex. Vermette is an 83, yet is a far better center than many players rated above him.

Not that I dont agree with the trade, but with only 4 roster players allowed Weber for Cole, Shatty, and Stewart is closer value than Weber + Smith for Shatty + Stewart + pick (since Cole would be classified as a roster player from what I've read).

I don't disagree, though I think, in some ways, Weber plays (slightly) below his 90 rather than above it.

I also agree that Smith is getting undersold a bit in the proposal--as I said yesterday. But NSH has some actual prospects who could be used as partial make-weights without running afoul of the 6-asset limit. Perhaps they can work something out.

I completely agree, Weber does not play up to his 90 ov rating IMO and Nashville has quite a few holes to fill. I think they have the value to get a trade done, just needs to be reworked to be in agreement with the trade rules (which is the thing I like most about this league!)
