wasn't the meeting still supposed to only consist of 6 players, 6 owners?

It's a good mix. I'll take it all things considered.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. I'm not expecting anything ground breaking, but I am hoping for reports of positive dialogue that each side can take back to their respective leaders.
I just dont get why they are all there... Makes no sense.
Especially Toews and Crosby. Mayers keep saying the same thing over and over... Miller has at least made an articulate comment about the whole lockout.
The players in attendance will be perfect for press fodder at the end of the meeting regardless of how things fall into place.
I mean if I wanted to make a statement that the press would pay the most attention to from an NHLPA pov I would shove Crosby and Toews out there front and center.

Are you suggesting Toews and Crosby cannot articulate?
I think it actually works against the players to have that many in the meeting.
Greater chance that they have some infighting going on with such a wide range of player types.
Both groups are diverse...star players, mid-card guys and role players...and the owners aren't all richy riches...a few big shots and a few guys from smaller market teams. I think it should be alright. You have a lot more players in the league than owners...wouldn't seem to make sense to just have a few players speak for the entire group.

Some NHL owners are labeled as hawks; others as doves. Apparently, Jeremy Jacobs is being cast as a pigeon because he craps on new ideas.
