Why is this trade not effective in game. Half the players in this trade need to be resigned now in order for us to complete this trade, thus killing me salary cap wise
Very annoying. Now we have to re-sign eachothers players and deal with less cap space than we were planning on. Definitely a downer after such an exciting trade. We'll just have to adjust.

The offseason between the finals and july 1 is pretty stupid.
The trade was submitted for league approval before the deadline in game for offseason trades until July 1. If approved by commish it should have gone through.
Wow this sucks! I may have to lose Backstrom now!!! Definitely ticked at the moment. This trade was going to give me the required cap space I needed to re-sign all my players. Very disappointed it didn't go through when we had both confirmed it.
I don't understand, the first trade between minnesota and chicago was not executed in game? I approved it well before the sim.
The second segment was not submitted, the nashville chicago trade, as it was made after the trade window had closed as scheduled, so could only be made after July 1.

i did notice that the trade said chicago had -$7mil in cap space, but the trade had the green check mark for league approval so i figured it didn't matter as the season was over, maybe that stopped it ultimately?

No idea why it didn't go through, I clicked the approve button to approve it right before i posted confirmed on the forum. NHL13 glitch I guess, which sucks if it doesn't put trades through prior to the draft.
I'm not sure how, but i see in the transactions list that winnipeg has re-signed a bunch of guys, presumably when it was CPU run, even though tonight is supposed to be the first night to re-sign. the NHL news item says the re-sign phase begins June 25, but on the June 25-25 sim period it just said prepare to resign, and would not allow re-signing.
Anyway, FYI winnipeg...hopefully the contracts are decent.

You are retooling fast it seems. Seeing how things worked out with me and minny, I'm not sure how soon we can get our deal done, depends when I get the players to send over to you. However it needs to work we'll make sure each of our three teams gets all the players involved in the trades

If you like you can set it up as a 3 way trade to get it processed in the next trade window, sending players to their ultimate teams for 2018 7th rnd picks etc, just organize it clearly and all teams get on board

I know in offline mode it takes the good UFA players a few days to decide on an offer, but does it work that way in this online mode? Will the players that are offered contracts on July 1st already decide where they want to sign by July 2nd? Need to know so I can devise my strategy!
Works for me. Lets make sure we send those trades to commish the day we are able to do trades again so we can all move on with any other off season plans we may have

In my experience, a lot decide on day 1, kinda like real life, but not all, it depends on if people over pay them or not. But the second sim is like a fifteen day progression I believe, so most players are gone by the 2nd sim or so.

how fast do other leagues sim through the rest of the offseason, any suggestions? haven't been through that part yet. seems like there won't be much to do, do they do the 15 day sims daily or after the first couple, sim to the next season?
