Leafs fan voting even. Both similiar, good players. Any difference between the two is negligible

Kronwall, I've always felt he was underrated living in Lidstroms shadow.

Voted even. It's close and I like both players, I'd say if there's a gun to my head I'd take Phaneuf.

It's unfair comparing a prospect goalie in the juniors with a NHL defenseman.

Pretty close to even. I voted Dion just to close up the gap a little bit.

Well lets see, both were equal on even strength this year. Phaneuf had 8 more points on the PP this year... And also played about a minute more on the PP every night.

The year before, Dion missed some games, but even by PPG calculations, he was quite a bit behind Kronwall on even strength, and slightly ahead of him on the PP... Having played 1:20 more PER GAME.

The year before that, Kronwall missed nearly half the season. Using the same PPG calculations, Kronwall was slightly under Dion in even strength scoring, and 3 points behind in PP scoring... When Dion was playing 1:30 more PER GAME.

So pretty easy to see Kronwall is better on even strength, whereas Dion gets more points on the PP because he gets more time.

Dion has clearly been the better and more consistent offensively player in their careers. Dion has 5 40+ point seasons, Nik has 1. And Dion is 4 years younger.

Who knows, on a bad team he might get exposed a lot more. Works both ways.

Playing under Lidstrom and Rafalski for the vast majority of your career has that affect. Your move.

Where they are in their careers, age isn't a factor in who's better right now. They're not young enough to let us think they could improve significantly and not old enough to let us think that they'll regress due to age.

Not when he was rarely ever on the ice with either of them. Step it up.
