Good point. I've heard that MLSE is very player friendly so I'm sure he's met Larry before during the number of MLSE charity events the Leafs take part in. Maybe he's hoping his boss can make a difference here because I think Larry is the only guy on the owner's side that Lupul has any real connection to that would warrant that kind of comment. I would think Crosby might be a bit more hopeful with Burkle in the room. And as we've learned by now, if you're a Bruins player, you don't have any optimism sitting across from Jacobs in the boardroom.
The owners or we will call them the NHL and the players we can call them the NHLPA, goals are not going to change just because there are different people in the room.
Not sure why anyone is excited about this meeting. No one in the room has the power to change anything. the 24 people in that room could agree on everything but that doesn't mean the other 700+ involved will, mainly Bettman or Fehr. Only thing that would make this exciting is if there is a deal in place and this is just the curtain lift...doubtful.

GOD what is with this reporter breaking that a deal was done earlier what a joke. I agree with someone on the last page I don't see why everyone is getting so excited for this meeting.

What are you talking about? If those guys can be on the same page that's the basis for a deal. They relay it to their teams and they build a deal from there. Bettman and Fehr represent... they are not the only say in this.
This move is like taking the two frustrating characters for both sides out and work on a deal.
