I think the owners will try to convince the players that they need to keep the teams healthy in order to continue to grow revenues and will probably appeal to them in a more friendly manner. Attempt to convince the players that they are not lying and hiding millions of dollars from them.
Meanwhile Bettman is proposing one last proposal to Fehr.
Then when the PA meets afterwards, the players will feel better about accepting a slightly better offer from a more 'human' group of owners.
Just my thought on how I would try to sway the players in this situation if I were on the league side.
I hope... and it's just a pipe dream... for a deal today. That would make Bettman and Fehr so pointless in this process. In fact, it would prove that the two just aren't helping at all. Fehr is the biggest joke of all time. Bettman obviously gets under the players skin, too.

Hearing there’s a possibility owners at todays meeting may be given ok to address media. Not confirmed, but a possibility.
Even Dolan?
even dolan but they can only say what jacobs and Bettman want them to say

He isn't at the meeting today so obviously not him, lol.
@EricFrancis: Something weird going on with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins as Oilers say they can't comment on him at this time. Status very unclear for World Jrs

I dont like the mix of players(toews, miller etc. put alot more emotion into this than actual logic) BUT its a decent mix of owners minus jacobs.
you never know what will happen when the owners actually talk to them directly.
Never miss a chance to player-hate.
Miller has been a pretty straight shooter. He's coming from a player's perspective, for sure. But to call him emotional and not logical is just a typical player-hater statement.
I'm not trying to get ahead of myself, but in the hypothetical situation of the lockout ending this week, could teams swipe their players back from the WJC rosters?

A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you.” The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?” The boy takes the quarters and leaves. “What did I tell you?” said the barber. “That kid never learns!” Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. “Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?” The boy licked his cone and replied, “Because the day I take the dollar, the game is over!”

yes...each team was asked to give a list of 2-3 prospects in jr that they wanted to callback from training camp. so they can take their players back.

If they were put on a list at the beginning of the lockout that they could be recalled for camp, yes. I know Ryan Murray and Boone Jenner were on the CBJ's list.
Whenever this crap ends we deserve a lot better than a "thank you fans" on the ice. I'm talking a goodie basket filled with chocolates, champagne and cavier.
