We will get 30th.

Get used to it now, we will be less disappointed when it happens.

Sad but true. Would be fun if we drafted the most sought after 67 again though.

I would want Barkov over Monohan, and that's no slight to Sean at all . I think he is criminally looked over, even though he is considered a consensus top 5 pick. If he were in the CHL, he would be dynamite.

Yeah, Barkov is excelling in a good Euro league in a way that is almost unheard of.

Can't really go wrong with any of the top 10 forwards, granted I've only had limited viewing of the Euro players so far, looking forward to a better look at the WJC

If were picking 30th then I would want some-one like Jason Dickenson (although he's climbing fast), or Ryan Kujawinski in Kingston.

Jamal Watson, Carter Rigby and Jamien Yakubowski could all be good mid-late picks.

Monanhan & Nurse would be a nice combo of forward & defenceman, if Murray could pull off a deal(s) to acquire another first round pick.

In order to do that, he would have to further strip the team down. I think we are past that stage now.

Although, a Nurse/Blood tandem would be fun to ice.

Why do you think so?

I think there are a number of players or prospect combinations that Murray could put together to get a deal done without hurting the team overall. Michalek, Regin, Lundin, Gonchar, Condra, JOB, Prince, Puempel, Noesen, Da Costa, Wiercioch, Bishop, Petersson or even maybe one of the big three in Silfverberg, Zibanejad or Stone.

I don't see a package of a few of those as stripping down the team especially if we are talking prospects who aren't yet on the team. They have an abundance of good players available. Not that I would do this but for example, would Prince, Puempel & Noesen be enough to get us Monahan or is that an over payment?

If there is no season we wont have Regin, Lundin, Gonchar, Condra to use as bait.

It took Fisher to get us a late first. Michalek+ is the only real way I see us getting a first. Even then it may be a very late pick. Nurse will be gone by 20th I am sure.

I am not against trading Michalek, but we need a legit top 3 forward to replace him. Alfy is retiring, It would be unwise to load the top 6 with 4 rookies.

A package of Prince, Puempel and Noesen would be a huge overpayment IMO. Throw in a roster player, one of those prospects and a pick then that would be more than fair we might have to throw in another prospect tho to make the deal more tempting for the other team.

My memory is alittle foggy of the draft during the last lockout, could teams make deals for picks even though the players were still locked out?

Forget another 1st, I'd be happy to get our 2nd back (traded for Bishop), this is a deep enough draft we can get some real talent in that round I think.

I have a gut feeling Darnell Nurse will be a Senator come
June.

I also have a feeling he'll climb into the Top 10.

I'm definitely ok with this, love his game so far, a good plan B if we don't pick that early would be Zadarov in London as well, they play pretty similar although Nurse is a bit more physical.

Robert Hagg baby. I want this kid, that's if Barkov is out of our reach. Picture a 2 way Karlsson but less dynamic offensively ability. I'd consider him arguably the best skater in the draft. Although not as much BOOM quality, more stable.

I hope you are right. Love Nurse, his game is well suited for the NHL. I see big potential for him and I love the way he skates for such a big kid. I've said it before, but Nurse reminds of Pronger in the way he plays the game.

He's counted upon to be the top d for the Sioux. Impressive.

I think he will be a riser come draft day.

I never trust Craig Button. It is as if he makes lists differently so they dont look like Bob McKenzies.
