Not.

What.

You.

Red Sox are one of the final three suitors for Shane Victorino

I know what I said pal. The original post was about RA Dickey. Who asked for JBJ and Bogaerts. I said I wouldnt trade them both for Felix him let alone RA.

Now I'm still saying. Seattle would want a Kings randsom for him and rightfully so. I just wouldnt trade them all for him.

Some people would. But not me.

I'd keep Bogaerts. And wouldnt include him in that deal. So riddle me this? What's your issue?

You wouldn't trade JBJ and Bogaerts for King Felix.

Got it. Exactly. That is exactly what we all laughed at you for.

Everyone? On the same page.

It's just a report, and it's Nick Cafardo too. So take this with three double chins of salt.

That said, I want no part of Victorino. Awful signing at half that price.

I don't know much about Victorino; but a quick look at his player card shows that he has a decent bat and can run, and plays center field. Would this signing signal an Ellsbury trade?

I think I'm on board with everyone else here; if their cap is 3 years I don't care what they spend, they have deep enough pockets, as long as they don't handicap the team for 10 years anymore!!

Couldn't agree more if they sign that idiot for that money. I wouldn't even give him $10 mil a yr.

Napoli and Victorino are some middle of the order pop to go around Ellsbury, Pedroia, Ortiz, Middlebrooks.

Prospects might take most of the 3 years to develop I sort of like overpaying a little bit for these guys.

Both are tradable middle of next year when they only have a year and a half left.

Sure, I agree with that as I was one saying it. But you don't just throw it around to players who barely deserve half that. You could make the case Napoli was a slight overpay, but he very possibly could be an avg 1B and hit 30-35 at Fenway.

Victorino sucked last year and can't hit righties.

.244/.311/.387 vs RHP over the last 3 years

So we needed a lefty bat so we went out and got a sh1tty one. Great. I mean how much more would Swisher possibly have cost?

Are you finally starting to see the folly of what's been happening this offseason? Welcome to the dark side, BP!!

Meh. You all laughed last year when I said I'd keep Reddick because he's going to be a special player.

Who's laughing now?

I value Bogaerts more than JBJ. You'd have to keep at least ONE of your top prospects. That's what I'm getting at.

But whatever. We just offered Victorino 38 million. We've got more issues.

Reddick is special?

................really?

I don't remember laughing at you last year, but this made me giggle today.

No, what you are getting at is you wouldn't trade those two players for King Felix. No one here agrees with you. In fact, only the Seattle Mariners agree with you.

Reddick's OPS+ last year?

110.

BALETED: Might be taken the wrong way, not my intention.

Still me, because Reddick's splits were terrible. Just like last year with Boston, he amassed good numbers early and then finished poorly. If a guy who hits a whopping .215 post all star break and finishes the season hitting .164 & .167 in September and October, all while his team is fighting for a playoff spot, is considered special, then I may have to redefine my understanding of special.

Looks like the Sox are closing on Victorino too. More $$$, shorter terms... Cherington living up to his words. Our best prospects will not be ready to contribute until 2 years, at the very least. Good job,so far, by the Sox.
