I watched the entire BC vs. Boston game on NBCSPN and Hayes reminded me of Hossa the way he would protect the puck with guys on his back. He is definitely a big guy who uses his size for puck protection, he also was standing in front of the net a lot during the PP. I think he will be a solid player for the Hawks in the near future.

It was probably time, don't think he'll amount to anything

Highlights of Prince Albert's season so far. Lots of McNeill's hits, goals and some nice setups throughout the video.

Highlights from BC vs. BU the other night. Kayes had 3 assists and was 2nd star of the game.

Didn't realize how much I missed hearing McGuire and Emrick call the game...

In his last 15 games (which conveniently leaves out his slump at the start of the season), TT has 7g, 9a, 16p

Pretty good for an 18 year old playing against men. But I still want to see more.

Here is what TT's team mate Steve Moses says:

HF: Lastly, Teuvo Teravainen (CHI) for Jokerit was drafted highly in the 2012 NHL Draft. It seems like he's really picked things up in November. What can you tell us about his play?

SM: He's a tremendously-skilled player. He's a young kid and like I said earlier, it's especially difficult this year for younger guys. With all of the NHL players in the league the competition is a little bit tougher. I think he was maybe caught off guard at the start of the season and expected that it was going to be a little bit easier than it was. But, since Val Filppula's been injured he's been playing with me and Ilari Filppula and he's been playing great. He really has top, top-level skill with incredible hands, great vision. I think he's going to be a great player for a long time in the NHL. It's certainly a joy to play with him and he's developing more and more all of the time. He's going to be a pretty special player.

Turning to DANAULT and MCNEILL who are among the 37 juniors Canada has invited to the Final Selection Camp starting Dec 11th in CGY for the U-20 team to compete at the WJHC ..

What are their chances of making TEAM CANADA ?

BOB MCKENZIE on tsn thinks the 4 centers are locks---RNH (if his shoulder is ok and NHL CBA deal before the tournament) --STROME ,JENNER ,and DANAULT as 4th line C (SCHEIFFLE will play RW unless RNH can't play -in which case he'll move to centre)----so it looks like DANAULT willbe there as the 4th line C --and PK and key face-off role centre...

However--after a torrid start this year in Victoriaville-- DANAULT has really cooled off in scoring --especially goal-scoring over the past month AND more concerning his +/- (-4) is the worst he's had in the Q since arriving in Victorialle --he was +19,+17 and +11 in his fist 3 seasons there --he has 13g 23 a and -4 in 27GP so far this season..

MCNEILL is trending opposite --that is after a slow start he has really come on and is now 12g 24a and +6 in 31GP --but it is the trending--MCNEILL got hot in November--DANAULT really cooled off and so MAYBE who plays better AT THIS TIME will determine their fate and spot on the team...

I do not think it willbe a MCNEILL vs. DANAULT situation--I think that IF MCNEILL makes the team -it willbe as a 3rd or 4th line WINGER --in the BIG PHYSICAL WINGER ROLE that CANADA probably wants one two or three of their wingers to play ..
So if he makes the team it willbe in that type of role ---2 BIG WINGERS contesting for spots are ANTHONY CAMARA and TOM WILSON --CAMARA has 20g 16a and is +10 in 29GP for Barrie (OHL) and WILSON has 5g 16a and is +10 in 19GP for Plymouth (OHL) this year so far..HOWEVER MCNEILL also can fill at centre which may help him --especially if RNH is not physically able or is unavailable should the NHL cBA be signed before the WJHC starts...
I am not sure all 3 (MCNEILL,CAMARA,WILSON ) make BIG WINGER roles on the bottom2 lines of that team--especially if draft-eligible kids MONAHAN DROUIN and MACKINNON make the team as SKILL wingers -so MCNEILL could be in tough to make it .MACKINNON could also play C if required ,so can Monahan...

So I guess IF they decide on a more skilled 3rd line and only use 2 BIG physical wingers on the 4th line -then I think it willbe a MCNEILL vs. CAMARA battle for a LW spot on that line--or a MCNEILL vs. WILSON battle for 4th line RW...OR they could go one BIG physical 4th line with all 3 if DANAULT is off his game in the 4th line C spot... sO MAYBE it willbe MCNEILL vs. DANAULT?

Let the battles begin!

McNeill didn't get off to a slow start.. he had 9 points through his first 6 games.. he's been scoring at the pace he's scoring at throughout the season for PA.
