Taylor Swift a musician? I know when they give her a guitar and she strums it, it might appear as though she can play guitar...but she can't. She might know 2 chords.
I don't like Korn or Slipknot, but I would venture to say that they are much better 'musicians' than Swift, who is just another bubblegum pop princess.
Tom Petty's The Last DJ album has some of the best songs written in terms of critiquing mainstream pop music. Released in 2002, it's more relevant now than ever. Strange that most of it isn't on youtube.

Tom Petty's song "Joe" off The Last DJ album is probably the greatest song written about mainstream pop music. Released in 2002, it's more relevant now than ever. Strange that it isn't on youtube.
singing is music. we might not like her music, but she's certainly a musician
Went to the Reign vs Aces game with my girlfriend last night and it turns out they were showcasing Stanley Cup too. So I got to meet it in person for the first time and get some pictures. It was a pretty awe-inspiring experience as a result.
I was also highly impressed with the Citizens Bank Arena, was really surprised that an ECHL team could land such a swanky stadium for their home.
Frank Ocean "Channel Orange" - best album of the year
I don't 'get' it.
Then again most of the year's 'best' albums have just been duds to me. This has been the worst year for music in a long time for me.
R&B just doesn't do anything for me. In most other genres there's a couple albums here and there that stand out and above the rest...but with R&B even the supposedly great ones just bore me.

At the very least, if you've listened to Pyramids, I mean you have to admit that song is stellar. I don't know how anybody could listen to that song the whole way through and not name it as a classic song right off the bat. It covers so much ground and is so crisp. It's one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. Mr. Ocean is R&B so if that doesn't do it for you, he won't do it for you....I however love rap and r&b, and this album is great for me because of that. Most of the popular music these days doesn't do it for me either...just sounds like effeminate guys whispering to themselves.
Oh Wills and Kate are expecting, all the Tabloids and Royal Watchers are going to have a field day over this. Although I am happy for them, I wish the media would just bugger off and leave them alone FFS.............
Junior's Wife is the best thing there. i'm serious. Junior Kimbrough is a hero of mine. it's great to hear his wife. Kimbrough has some pretty inspired album titles:
