That game for me was the Eagles game all over again.

The Giants are the defending Super Bowl champs, yet lack a real killer instinct.

They never take the opportunity to put teams away. That and the Eagles games are games they should have won, and yet now they're sitting where they were last year, wondering if they'll make the playoffs. It's bizarre.

Who they REALLY miss and I'm surprised it hasn't been discussed in the media, is Jacquin Williams. This kid is good.
He hasn't played since the 49er game. He's someone with speed and could cover a TE.

One of the few positives from last night (and in all of the games he's played in) was that Rivers looked great. It's a shame that he has been hurt this season; having him in permanently would really improve the quality of our linebackers.

Even though they don't play like it at times (like last night), when healthy, the Giants safeties and front four are absolutely amazing. I honestly feel that the linebackers are average and that they are viewed a bit more negatively considering the talent that surrounds them.

I think the Giants lack a sufficient "run-stopper" that would allow their DE's to properly rush the passer. Just my .02$

That was supposed to be Shaun Rogers before he got hurt.

The need a MLB. One that is athletic.

Well, they have one of the best DTs in that regard in Anvil. Problem is no one around him can ever help him and Blackburn has been horrendous.

The Giants need to jam Graham at the LOS. Simple.

We ran the ball 29 times: 24 of those were Bradshaw carries.

Wilson..only 4.

Yes, Bradshaw had more YPC but I think our running game also evaporated in the 2nd half because he was tired, especially when he does have those nagging foot injuries. You gotta split it up.

I have to be honest. I have not seen a lot that wows me thus far from Wilson when he runs the ball.

Be honest here, how many times has our rookie gotten the ball?

I understand that but I haven't seen anything I make me think he warrants more carries. I'd like to see them set up some packages for him (a la a Dave Megget on third down). But as far as being a guy to share the load with Bradshaw, I don't see him as an option. It's clear the coaching staff aren't ready to give him more touches either. And this coaching staff gets the benefit of the doubt with me.

What about Ryan Torain? Haven't heard anything about him since the signing. Will he even see the field this year?

There's a reason he was available.

In 2007, Bradshaw was in a similar position as Wilson. You haven't seen anything out of Wilson because he doesn't get the carries. He's definitely quicker than Bradshaw and he can be more explosive.

Add in Bradshaw's feet problems and it's asinine that Wilson doesn't get more carries, especially with Brown being injured.

I'm definitely fine if Wilson doesn't get 50% of the carries, but I do have a problem when one player is getting 83% of them, who - again - isn't healthy himself.

I don't think the coaching staff likes Wilson. He's not a Giants type of RB.
He's almost like Reggie Bush. You need to be creative with him. Think outside the box. Get him into space. Gilbride is far from creative.
Ex: He would awesome on the Saints. They're great play callers.

This coaching staff also felt that Anvil was not worthy of playing time as a rookie. And he turned out fine. If anything, they have been overly restrictive on young players. I don't think minimal playing time for a rookie under Coughlin shows that they have soured on a guy.

Then why would they pick him in the first round.

I don't know but, we were due for a first round screwup. Haven't had a real disappointment since Aaron Ross, and he did win 2 super bowls as the @2 guy for us.

It's definitely way too early to be calling Wilson a screw up. Look back on all the great Giants running backs that were drafted...they all sat a year before they really did anything of substance.

Wilson may need to pack on a few pounds of muscle in the off season. He seems to have a hard time breaking any tackles, he just outruns them. The problem with that is his style is physical and might be a bit weak physically at this point in his young career.

Wilson is definitely not a screw up. I don't see how we can say we haven't seen anything from him yet when we haven't even incorporated him into the game plan.

I'm not saying Wilson is a screw up I'm saying the pick was a screw up.

Picking a running back in the first round in just about any set of circumstances is a screw up.

From what I've read and heard, they were all set to take Martin, then the Bucs traded up. Wilson was probably plan b.

I don't think there's any reason to think any of this is true. They would never have picked him if the coaching staff didn't like him.
