Not viable for whom (I think I finally used that word correctly. )?

From the Rangers' point of view, how was the CBA not viable for another year?

According to Forbes, the Rangers had the second-highest operating income. How the hell was the current CBA not viable for them? How about the Leafs?

Pretty obvious he meant for the NHL as a whole according to the NHLs BoG

Unfortunately I don't think the NHLs proposed fixes are going to make it any more viable long term for the smaller teams. The major problem isn't just what percentage of revenue the players get, it's that there are a number of teams that are just pathetic when it comes to generating revenue for any variety of reasons

As long as the really profitable teams are pushing the cap up then the small market teams are going to struggle to keep up.

Hockey please come back.
I keep thinking the same thing.

Then I think about how I'd perhaps rather have people trying to dissect CBA negotiations than the actual game of hockey.

I don't know. A "GABBY CAN'T SCORE OMGZ!!!11!one!11!!" thread is looking pretty right about now.

There's always time to start another thread about how NHL players shouldn't be allowed to play overseas while contracted by an NHL team to prevent injuries. See: Rick Nash for like the 5th time this season.

It sure is. Hell, right now, a "RICHARD$ WaS a BAd SigniNG" thread is looking good now. I just want hockey to come back. I think we've already exhausted all possible subjects of regiments on this board 10 times over.

Technically, they are not contracted by an NHL team right now

Of course the players would've kept playing under the old CBA... They were making a killing.

Haha, so true.

When we have hockey again, I am going to jump head first into any stupid debate.

And yet, I stop by whether theres hockey or not.

I guess Im just a sucker for knee-jerk reactions, no matter the context.

We can just start shifting the complaints:

This is a bad hockey team.

becomes

This is a bad hockey league.
