So if they're doing some serious negotiating tomorrow, will the BoG meeting be postponed or cancelled?

I spend $35,000 dollars a year on season tickets. I have an absolute right to vent. I financially support the Canucks more than 99% of the fans here. In fact when you add in food, booze and 50-50 tickets I spend around $50,000 a year on the sport I love, but this isn't about the sport I love. This is about people fighting over our money.

Sometimes a reality check is exactly what people need when they get so high on themselves that they forget who supports them. One season of record low attendance should be enough to remind them exactly who pays the bills.

Getting some very positive vibes just now out of NHL's Manhattan Project. A vy encouraging word relayed from owner's side.

Something positive about an owner...that is a nice change! By all accounts, seems like the meetings well enough that no one is throwing out the 'buts' to derail what both sides seem to think is progress. Nice to see that some new faces made a difference and that the players were receptive to Burkle. Just a hunch, but I think the PA pegged the Pens as being moderates in the lockout and put Crosby and Adams in there for that very reason.

I dont care if you spend $500,000 a year. If you like hockey you wouldnt want the best league on the planet to dissolve. Or disappear for any reason.

I understand they need a reality check and things need to change so there arent lockouts after every CBA. But wishing that is ceases to exist is not a hockey fans mentality. Period.

Maybe you need a reality check?

Whoever DOES take the reins should have a hockey background, NOT a law or business one.
Show me a league where the commissioner doesn't have a law or business background.

That's like saying the CEO of Del Monte needs to have been a small farm owner.

If he is ordering Chinese, he's asking for at least 50% off.

This is absolutely ridiculous. The NHL is a big business ($3.3 B, remember?) That requires business decisions, by a business leader.

And to be fair to Bettman, being with the NHL for almost 20 years kind of makes him a hockey guy, doesn't it?

The BoG meeting isn't something that will take the whole day, maybe not even more than 2 hours.

They can definitely have negotiation sessions tomorrow.

Good to see the meetings will continue tonight.
