Rude and insulting? Yes, but not racist.

Not going to speak for Dan, but he's known to post tongue-in-cheek comments and that's how I took that particular post.

I can't and won't and don't need to speak for DKH but he leads with his heart, which is what's great about him. Keep that in mind.

That's exactly how I took it. I'm surprised there was more than a single person who took it otherwise.

Interesting... Duthie tweeted the following 30 minutes ago:

No meetings this morning. Owners on way to BOG meetings. Meeting with PA expected to continue later today.

I wonder who's right?

Not sure I totally understand, so sorry if this response is off.

If Steve Burton had reported that Jeremy Jacobs had told him this will be over in a few days, no, I would not have brought it up. The report would speak for itself. Same as if my stupid friend told me who gave him the stock tip. I'd then be able to go to the other guy directly.

By the way, sorry if I seem touchy. I don't care that anyone is attacking me, outside of the two people I know personally.

Feel free to call me a moron anytime you like! For some that just means continue on.

Bourne just posted this:

Quote:
Reports this mornings are that the players and owners met again for a short while, but separated so the owners could attend their 11a.m. Board of Governorís meeting. They plan to reconvene after, and could work well into the night again.
He also linked a bunch of lockout updates/analyses:

Okay, good. That's how I'll view it, as he is one of my favorite posters here.

No harm, no foul....back to hockey talk....here's to the meetings going well!

I actually wish Bettman would postpone his press conference a day. That would be a good sign. It seems counterproductive to have a presser in the middle of some - hopefully - productive sessions. What can he say at 1PM today? You knows he's going to be peppered with questions about where things stand and he won't be able to answer them. Doing it tomorrow instead would give him a chance, maybe, to bring out the good news we are all hoping for. Oh well, we'll see what he has to say but it's probably going to be "no solid news yet, feeling better than last week."

The NHL and NHLPA have requested an adjournement of tomorrow's Quebec Labour Board hearing. They're awaiting a decision..

Sounds like this thing is over.

Steve Burton just owned the **** out of the hockey media.

Wow. Good for him. (Like I said, always seemed like a nice guy.)

And awesome for everyone not a player or owner that has lost money because of this ********.

The NHLPA was looking to decertify if the lockout progressed, like the NBAPA did. In Canada, you have to go through each provincial government. I guess Quebec was 1st.

So they're halting that process?

For the record, I agree that Burton shouldn't be shot down out of the gate, and I disagree with those that think he's an idiot. He's made it as a sportscaster in this town for years, and there's a reason for that. We don't know who he knows or what he's heard -- everyone that has predicted the end of the lockout being imminent has been wrong, why so much scrutinty focused on him?
This was before I found out it was true. It was a bit out of left field.

Word is on the twitterverse that he may do just that (not have a press conference, I mean).

Yes looks like it.

If this plays out, big props to Crosby for being engaged and involved in the situation. Maybe him being in N. America had a lot to do with his concussion, but got on him for not sitting back like a lot of his membership.

Hopefully he will not be vilified like Linden was and this can begin an actual relationship between the 2 parties.

They also tried to sue the NHL at the beginning of it all claiming that lockouts are illegal in Canada, Specifically in Alberta and Quebec.

I think this was actually related to the PA alleging that the Lockout was illegal. They did the same in Alberta and the courts ruled in favour of the league. I don't think this is decertification related or anything more than a show of good faith by the PA by pulling back on a tactic that was unlikely to be successful anyways.

Could be wrong but I believe that's what's going on there.

Told #Penguins owner Ron Burkle working behind the scenes for 2 weeks to help jump start talks.
