What team is that? There are 30 "ex-teams" that don't have a working CBA. Or I guess you can say there are 30 team names with no players allowed to play for those teams.
So no, today, Grigs, Girgs, or whoever doesn't make a team.
you know what he meant so there was no need to be a smart ass.
I would say he has a 50/50 shot at best. I would be fine either way.
I see no reason why he cant stay with the big club and play 60 percent of the games with easier minutes and some PP time. I could see him having a similar season to Seguins rookie year.
The Amerks are playing Drew freaking Schiestel at forward. No, I don't think Girgensons should go, unless they get some bodies that are actually capable of playing wing. His main priority should be for the pro team he plays for. I'm sure that won't be popular with the majority here. That said, I still think he'll go anyway.

It sounds like he won't be going. But yes, I believe he should go.
From what I can tell, he would miss four games. I think the Amerks will be ok without a 3rd line wing who barely gets any special teams time for those four games.
Even though there are no Sabres prospects playing (from what I can tell) there should be some interest in the Friday Night CHL TV Game Of The Week as one of the local OHL teams, the Niagara Ice Dogs, travel to London, Ontario to face-off against the red hot London Knights. Niagara pounded Ottawa last night 9-0 (former Sabres prospect Steven Shipley had a goal and three assists) while London had to rally from three goals down in route to a 4-3 win over Brampton last night. The come from behind win was the Knights sixteenth straight win!
You can watch the game - LIVE - on Sportsnet in Canada and NHL Network in the United States starting at 7:00 pm ET. Would be nice to see the Ice Dogs end that streak. (I'll be catching the 10:00 pm ET replay on NHL Network as my LIVE hockey viewing at 7:00 pm ET will be devoted to the Michigan State-Notre Dame game which will shown on NBC Sports Network. Go Notre Dame!)
Saw the replay, Armia collects the puck from Ässät blueline, carries it over the neutral zone, 1-on-1, dekes out the defender with a bit of luck, then backhands it top shelf. Reeeallly nice goal, ya all will love it once I get my hands on the highlights
2-1 final, Ässät are now 10th in the league. At the moment Ässät has 6 wingers injured, so that's part of the problem.
NHL season starting would be a godsend to Ässät right now, as there's so many teams with lock-out players it would help Ässät immensely if they left, since Ässät can only afford home-town kid Joensuu, who's one of the injured wingers
Quite frankly, I'm not worried about the offensive production. Talent is talent, and the kid's got it in spades.
I want to see him continue to improve at faceoffs and improve defensively.
Agreed. If you look back at the prospects we've had the last few years that have dominated the junior leagues offensively, it's mind blowing. Gauthier-Leduc, Adam, Brennan, Schiestel, Crawford, Lagace, Legault, McNabb, Kassian, and Foligno all had outstanding seasons in their last years of junior. Scoring in junior is almost a given. I'd rather he develop the fundamentals and his defensive game more so. The Sportsnet announcers mentioned the high scoring nature of the QMJHL as not necessarily the best indicator of his progress and potential and it may have been the only thing I agreed with them about all night.
Red-White game tonight at Canada's selection camp. Catenacci is on Team White, and will be playing LW on a line with Boone Jenner-Ty Rattie.
BTW this intrasquad scrimmage is available for free on FASTHockey.com; game starts momentarily at 9:00PM ET and the stream is currently live. Catenacci's #26 in white.
