For the final on paper deal, yes. It takes time to write up.

An agreement in principle should be done faster than that if this is truly serious.

Agreed. But I'd say that it's a step up from yesterday's discussion on whether the lights were on in the NHL store.

Agreed, the ratification will take a bit of time but to agree in principle to a deal shouldn't take that long considering the pace of talks.

Nice to see KPD come out from under his rock. Good writer w/ connections but is very pessimistic and grouchy

Just saw Craig Adams leaving the hotel with his luggage. He was alone and no sign the meeting is even close to being done.

If they agree in principle they head back to camp and start the season. The last CBA final document wasn't signed until the first season of the new CBA ended. Just for everbody's information.

If players are starting to leave then could that mean they're going away to get in touch with teams players to let them know to get ready?

Edit: Buzzkill from above Prior commitments. N/M.

I don't understand what "Prior Commitments" could possibly be.

Now I guess Toews left too. They must have brought in Donald trump and one by one he is firing people out of the meetings until 1 owner and 1 player are left to negotiate the whole deal...

We're all blowing hard in this hope balloon in hopes it takes to the air, here. I just hope none of the people involved in the talks will take a needle to it.

The Flames have 53 games scheduled from December 22 to April 13.

Tacking on an extra 8 games (to hit 61) during the cancelled all-star break and a week or two at the end of the season isn't outside the realm of possibility.

I understand that, but it's 4 PM Eastern time and this lockout affects a lot of people, and there's opportunity to hammer it out. Toews has been very vocal throughout this process, and it just strikes me as odd that he's leaving the meetings early.

Maybe it's nothing, though. None of us know for sure.
