Really...you're going to base your entire opinion on a negotiation from two pretty irrelevant players in the grand scheme of things? What would those two know over some of the players that are heading back.

So nervous for this. Please Fehr, put aside your ego, and please let this be at least really close to what the NHL has in mind.

Renaud Lavoie on RDS:

''GM's are telling their coaches to prepare for training camps because this is getting resolved.''

If it gets solved:

Training Camp around the 15th-20th.

Also talked about a 50-55 game season.

As long as it isn't ridiculous, I'm fine with that.. it pretty much forces the NHL to give their best offer in a counter. The NHL's counter offer will either be accepted by the NHLPA or rejected and that will be it.

But, again, the fact that there are positive leaks about players coming back etc etc, tells me both sides expect what's about to happen.. it's all about getting it out in the open officially via actual written down proposals.

It sounds like the really big stuff has been agreed upon (probably that supposed secret Monday meeting?).. the rest is making sure no one is dying on hills that aren't worth dying on.. bending for some small victories and whatnot.

By my calculations, NHL has been going over the proposal for about 2 hours 20 minutes.

Why do I get the feeling that this is going to blow up in less than an hour...

No one talks about a proposal this long unless they're giving it serious consideration. This could be the homestretch, might be at the most two counter-proposals out from signing a deal.

My guess is the PA hopefully moved on the delinked /linked issue to please the owners and they are awaiting the contracting to go to them.

I do find if funny when many thought there were too many guys in the room to start with and yet they made "progress". They still have a big group in that room and too much it made with the blow-by-blow via Twitter.

I mean seriously everyone hates Bettman anyway, and he don't care. So why does he need to be there anyway ?

But Fehr is known to be a shrewd person, so the NHL just made a small gesture, and the players bought it hook line and sinker.

Now the moderate owners/players get too look like Heroes that saved the season.

Fehr/Bettman look like idiots. But Bettman doesn't care he answers to the owners.
Exactly. I think everybody and their dog is now looking at Fehr (and Bettman) as the reason this has went on this long. Take them out of the room and look at how close we are.

PLEASE GET IT DONE I NEED NHL HOCKEY BACK!!!!!!

I'm actually curious to see how far both sides bent as far as $$$ and contract rights. Another thing that has been pushed aside looks like the possible re-alignment.

They are so close right now it would be utter shame if this thing falls off the rails. Pretty positive though that the league is taking this long to go through everything. Probably discussing the finer details.
