I'm not too worried about it. The Oilers have already charged me for the year. A pub in my neighborhood has a free shuttle to and from Rexall, you just won't see me spending any money outside of my OilersBucks there.

Source wouldn't confirm nor deny an offer was tabled. Rather said it was in response to questions league had on main issues. NHL caucusing.
Brilliant move By Bettman and the NHL. They have removed the NHLPA's best negotiator in Fehr also made him look like an obstructive person.
I mean seriously everyone hates Bettman anyway, and he don't care. So why does he need to be there anyway ?
But Fehr is known to be a shrewd person, so the NHL just made a small gesture, and the players bought it hook line and sinker.
Now the moderate owners/players get too look like Heroes that saved the season.
Fehr/Bettman look like idiots. But Bettman doesn't care he answers to the owners.
And that is because.... Fehr was excluded from the Internet when Bettman made the proposal? So he has never know about it, and thus hasn't been able to talk to the players and prep them and give talking points, along with his brother? Being a shrewd person stops when you don't get a formal invite?
GET IT DONE. Why are people talking like this will take until Friday. If it's meant to be, this gets done today 100%. We are already going over proposals. What more is a secret at this point???
Agreed, way too far in the process to go until Friday. This either gets done or goes off the rails TODAY! I don't like to refer to the Bible in such small circumstances like this..but.. this is like Armegeddon in the End Times. This is it! We're already discussing proposals and counter proposals and it's only 5 o'clock.

I'm actually curious how RDS being the first to break news will be handled in relation to TSN. I would have thought the NHL would have wanted their boys in Toronto to be the news breakers.
I thought I read somewhere today that Bettman has been sitting on an offer/counteroffer waiting to present it after the PA makes a proposal. But I could be totally wrong.
I think if the PA proposed linkage and 50-50 the rest will be taken care of relatively easily.
they already did that....
The PA has to lower demands on make whole (smaller amount), lose out on some contracting rights (maybe gain on others?). I'm pretty sure they were already close on revenue sharing. Perhaps offer more years at 50/50 (7 + options?). Finally, drop the demand of player's share can not be lower than the year before. It shouldn't be a big deal, because that's accounting for less than 0% growth... not going to happen. But since it won't happen (or is very unlikely), it shouldn't be a problem to drop that demand.
