At least the Bills don't have to play the Steelers's backups in the last week for a playoff spot...... know how that ended last time.

Yeah, this time the Colts can beat the Texans' second stringers on the last week to keep us out.

If only, Ralph would never let that happen though. Besides...what coaches are out there? Mybe Rex Ryan? Maybe Andy Reid? John Gruden? Gruden and Reid i'm sure would say no thanks. No thank you to Rex.

It's hard to believe that the Colts would lose to either the Titans or Cheifs but if Houston loses to the Patriots this week those two games may become interesting.

However; the Bengals and Steelers have some difficult games left (they play each other which isn't good). The Cowboys can beat either of these teams (they could also fall behind by 24 and lose). The Ravens and Browns are tough games too. The wild card are the Bengals @ Eagles and Chargers @ Steelers.
Not that this means much but KC shoulda beat PIT in PIT. Bad yes, but its poossible at home. Couple that with that guy dieing, maybe they'll finish strong!

Wouldn't losing to Tebowmania or a third-stringer like McElroy be considered lower though?

Actually, history has shaded the account of this game a little bit.

The Bills actually needed to win that game and still get some help elsewhere to make the playoffs - and they didn't get that help when Denver smoked Indy's backups 33-14. They would have lost out on a 3 way tiebreaker with the Jets (who did lose the last game of their season) and Denver.

You sure you're not thinking of a different year? I swear it was win and they were in that season.

No, he's not wrong though I do think had the Jets or Denver lost the Bills would get in, and the Jets did lose in STL.

Nope. Here's the standings from that year. http://www.shrpsports.com/nfl/stand/2004finaldiv.htm

The Bills and Jets split the season series that yea, were both 3-3 in the division, and the next tiebreaker between the Bills, Jets, and Broncos (whom the Bills didn't play) is conference record. Even flipping the Pittsburgh game, the Bills would have a 6-6 conference record to both the 7-5 marks for the Broncos and Jets.

The Jets did lose their last game of the season, but the Bills needed Denver to lose. The Jets were already out of reach.

The throwback uniforms are beautiful. One of the best in the league IMO.

If only they could be as nice-looking as the Steelers' throwbacks...

Eh. Never got into those jerseys. Not hideous but I don't understand why everyone gushes over them, they look like prison uniforms

I was kidding.:-) I found those one of the most hideous uniforms ever, and well-deserving of a top ten ranking in that category.

The Bills have placed Hairston on IR and signed OT Chris Scott from the Titans' practice squad: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/art...2-1e1598cf86b4

With Urbik moving to center, our right side of the line has a combined 0 NFL starts. And they'll only have Chris Long to deal with...

I expect we'll see a lot of Lee Smith to block, RBs chipping (where Jackson can be real useful since he's a better blocker), and I expect Fitz to have to get balls out real fast.

It's going to be real important to get the running game going to take some heat off the line.

Our offensive line injuries play right into the hands of the Ram's strength. I don't think our offense is going to be able to do much. I expect a low scoring grind it out type of game.

Not a fan of the throwbacks, it must be my age. I grew up with the blues and red helmets. The all dark blue in the 2000's were AWFUL. I've warmed up to these blues, the color scheme of the blue is nice. Still miss the red helmets.

Speaking of coaching:

http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/stor...ns-cowboys-mnf

I would stay FAR AWAY from Chip Kelly.

The rest somewhat intriguing.

PERRY FEWELL anyone?

Oh I forgot...Ralph C. Wilson Jr. is still around so this won't happen.

I'd love to have Fewell back. I think he'd do well.

But my top choice is Hue Jackson. He took a team with Jason Campbell and a rusty Carson Palmer and got to 8-8. That Raiders team is now pathetically bad under new management. He got the axe because the new GM wanted his own guy, not because he was a bad coach. Plus, the guy actually understands running the football...that offense ran through Darren McFadden.

Not totally true. Under the tiebreaker rules used in 2004, we only needed either a Jets or Broncos loss, not both. We got the help we needed, but the Jets lost after the Bills game had gone final. They were still playing to win, but who knows if knowing the Bills had lost affected the game. Had the Bills won and Jets lost, the Bills were in regardless of the Denver score. There are plenty of archived threads on TSW that break down the tiebreaker situations in detail. Painful reading...

Hmm. Didn't realize common opponents is ahead of conference record for ties within the division. You're right, we went 6-2 in the crossover games that year and they went 5-3 (with both 3-3 in the division).
