meh, depends on who's healthy.

If Hagelin, Kreider, Nash, and Gabby are all ready to go, the Rangers depth is good. The problem is with people being injured there isn't a lot of good replacement depth

**** it I'll do some lines for old times sake

Hagelin-Richards-Nash
Kreider-Stepan-Gaborik
Pyatt-Boyle-Callahan
Asham-Halpern-Rupp

Mix and match if necessary, etc.

I haven't heard much about Kreider and hagelin, but I heard gaborik has been skating, and from what I heard, Nash should be A-OK when the season starts.

edit. just read that Kreider's injury is nothing major.

I see that as good depth considering they will most likely be buyers at the deadline. Plus with Haley, Kolarik and Newbury able to play in the AHL they have some depth for that lower line if necessary.

yeah our depth is much less of an issue if we have gaborik from day 1...in a perfect world i'd like to add another top 9 guy to push pyatt down but that would make our depth awesome, not really needed.

I missed doing lines.

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik Can hopefully rekindle some chemistry from last year.

Nash-Stepan-Kreider- Puts Nash on his off-wing with a right-handed center to get him the puck on his forehand. Allows Kreider to learn from what we hope he can become. Stepan/Kreider chemistry also present.

Pyatt-Boyle-Callahan
Asham-Halpern-Rupp

McD-Girardi
Staal-Stralsy
DZ-Gilroy/McIlrath/Whoever

Hopeful roster next year:

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Nash-Stepan-Kreider
xx-Miller-Callahan
Pyatt-Boyle-Asham/Rupp

xx could be a Kyle Jean, Christian Thomas, an FA, or whoever else impresses.

Staal-Girardi
McDonagh-Sauer
Del Zotto-McIlrath

Hank
Biron

Everyone knows that with Torts the odds of any one line staying together for more than a week (unless they catch fire) is not too high.

Came here to post exactly this. But switch Halpern and Boyle.

1st 3 lines all have a solid mix of speed.

1st line has skill and strength.

2nd line builds on the chemistry Kreider-Stepan, and Stepan-Gaborik had. Worth a real look.

3rd line at least has some speed with Hagelin.

4th line is crap, but what are you gonna do?

I really want Miller to take that 3rd center spot. But it's not likely at this time.

Torts is the coach here, and if the season shapes out the way people are saying it looks these days, with the shortened camp we're going to have even more juggling. I'd like to see...

Nash - Richards - Callahan
Hagelin - Stepan - Gaborik
Kreider - Boyle - Pyatt
Rupp - Halpern - Asham

Wouldn't surprise me to see Kolarik grab a spot though, dude's been good for the Whale.

Put Pyatt on 3rd line RW and take 2nd Kreider off and those are my lines exactly.

I wish we kept Anisimov somehow, he would've been the perfect 3rd line C. Maybe Columbus moves him at the deadline.

Boyle has 2 yrs left on contract, Anisimov has 1 yr left.

Miller probably needs 1-2 seasons to develop in the AHL. When Boyle's contract runs out, Miller becomes 4th line special team player like Callahan was bought up to start his career. Sign Anisimov for 3 yrs and move him to wing if Miller is deemed ready to play a bigger role on the team.

Anisimov is still an RFA.

Oh mine. Actual hockey talk?!

TBH, I perfectly expect everyone to not get it right on point despite the number of variations and somewhat limited possibilities because Torts will somehow come up with a line that makes no superficial sense.
