'Antoni's main big man re-united with Nash to rekindle chemistry of those successful Suns teams that 'Antoni coached. Pretty simple.

What a disgusting Knick game. A win is a win, but that was painful to watch.

Melo 5 stitches late in game, Woodson said he will be playing tomorrow.

Stat is far from the guy he was in the Suns and pretty much the entire world knows this. Nobody wants the Stoudemire contract.

More importantly, Gasol is Kobe's guy, Kobe > D'Antoni

Furthermore, the reports coming out are that the Lakers were able to land Nash in part because they promised him they would keep Gasol around.

Only in the minds of Knicks homers does that trade work for anyone.

He is one yr removed from 27+ PPG. Gasol statline has been declining relative to his career avgs as well.

Nobody cares what he did back then at this point, everyone knows the reality of his injuries except people like yourself. No team wants to be saddled with his contract and his injuries. One of the worst contracts in the league, for whatever reason you don't understand that because you think that having several years left on his contract was a good thing.

I think last years short jam-packed schedule had a lot to do with Stat's regression (plus not coming to camp in shape)

The Lakers trading Pau to anyone is addition by subtraction. The Lakers have enough issues. They don't need internally-caused media sideshows..

Who cares about Stats contract? The Lakers have a short window anyway.

If the Lakers keep losing, Pau rumors won't go away and the Knicks should be interested given their rebounding weakness.

That was 2 years ago. His knees are shot and this point and the worst part about his contract is that its UNINSURED. No team will take it on.

Last time you brought up the Stoudemire/Gasol trade, here's the quote with you inferring that having 3 more years left was a good thing.

I remember when there were rumors of Bosh for Stoudemire a couple of years back. Stoudemire had one bad season and he's now valueless? His season in 2011 was elite and he has 3 more yrs left on the contract.
So nope, not really putting words in your mouth at all, and no reading comprehension problems.

meanwhile, here's your attitude on Stoudemire

I don't want that scrub on my team, would rather keep Pau. The Lakers don't do dumb trades like that, the Knicks are pros at it but that's not how the Lakers work, sorry

Spurs won. Bucks are a tough team. Only thing I really remember is Sean Elliott saying "that's a lot of meat to slap".

It is fairly obvious that Amare has the worst contract in the league. It is more wishful thinking/sarcasm on my part for a Gasol/Stat swap.

Apparently Anderson is quite high on the list of players the Lakers would want to bring in if Gasol is moved.

Bargnani+Calderon for Gasol seems to be floating around a lot lately.

That's not too bad. We need a backup point guard and a shooter.

Is this for real?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fr%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric_Weis

Quote:
"Le dunk de la mort"

Weis is known for having been "posterized" by the United States' Vince Carter during a basketball game between the two teams at the 2000 Summer Olympics on September 25, 2000. After getting the ball off a steal, the 6'6" (1.98 m) Carter drove to the basket, leaped, spread his legs as he jumped over 7'2" (2.18 m) Weis, and ferociously dunked the ball. The French media dubbed the slam "le dunk de la mort": "the dunk of death." The US won the game 106-94. After USA won the game, Frederic Weiss was ordered by a judge to name his first born child Vince Carter.

I thought Bargnani had negative value?

Calderon and Nash will be lol worthy though.

My personal idea for a Gasol trade would be to build a trade around Gasol to Milwakee for Ilyasova, Udrih, Henson

Makes sense, but I'm not sure there's a deal to be made there. Would definitely need to bring a third team into it. I have no idea what good value would be so I'm just spitballin' here, but how about something like:

Houston: Gasol
New Orleans: Asik, Terrence Jones
Los Angeles: Anderson

Maybe try and find Royce White a new home in the process?

Raptors lose, and just a month ago I was actually thinking they might just compete for a bottom seed.

Rival executives believe the most likely landing spot for Gasol is Toronto, which could offer Andrea Bargnani in return and bolster the Lakers' point- guard deficiency with Jose Calderon, who is backing up Kyle Lowry. CBSSports.com

Minnesota? Rival executives have long bought the notion that the Wolves want to accommodate Ricky Rubio's desire to play with Gasol. They, too, have a point guard D'Antoni covets in Ridnour, and could offer Nikola Pekovic, 2011 No. 2 pick Derrick Williams (whom coach Rick Adelman is down on), a first-round pick and filler. But unless the Lakers got Kevin Love in the deal -- which they wouldn't -- it's difficult to see how such an exchange would fit into their tiny window of opportunity to send Kobe off into the sunset with his sixth championship before he retires. CBSSports.com
From Roto:
Quote:
Pau Gasol is unlikely to be traded at this point because Steve Nash made the Lakers promise to keep Gasol before signing with L.A., a source told Ric Bucher.
Defensive help:
Quote:
First and foremost, the Lakers need defensive help on the wing and they need to strengthen their bench. For those reasons, league sources say D'Antoni is using whatever organizational capital he has to push for the signing of Raja Bell, whose agent, Herb Rudoy, is in the midst of buyout negotiations with the Jazz. Bell would immediately slow the wing penetration that is collapsing the Lakers' defense and exposing their rotational deficiencies on the back side. He's also a career 41 percent 3-point shooter who made a league-high 205 3-pointers in 2006-07 under D'Antoni in Phoenix. And Kobe wants him, so there's that. CBSSports.com
