And there have been no leaks. So based on what Mac is saying, things seem to still be positive, or at least not negative.

At the very least, I'd say things would have to turn horribly for the worst at this point for there to be no end in sight. The light at the end of the tunnel is seen by the NHL, NHPA, all the media and all the fans at this point. Just a matter of traveling that extra mile to get there.

They are close, there wouldn't be this many people reporting so if not. Whether or not they are done or nearly done is the question. We'll see.

A grenade would have to go off for it to go sour from here, and with people like that in the room, I wouldn't be surprised if that did indeed happen.

I haven't been on here in a long time... however for some reason i have a good feeling about the meetings that are going on hopefully that isn't false optimism!

Screw this. I'll just wait for RangerBoy to tell me when it's officially over.

Back to hibernation.

No doubt especially for anyone who's in exam week.

To be fair 99.9999999999% of what is being reported today is complete guesses. Neither sides saying anything, which is a very good sign IMO but that also means reporters on twitter are just guessing at the moment. Those same reporters have been there every other time there were signs of hope unless for it to blow up

Now this is how you win the pr war lol

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Steve Fehr has come out and offered slices of pizza to the media. He's catching on...

Perhaps...perhaps not. There are definitely reporters out there who have sources inside the negotiations that I'm sure have leaked a thing or two. Just not specific details.

Those are the slices that the league rejected in the PA's latest offer.

The only answer we're getting tonight is either, "we're working on it and much work needs to be done" or "it's hit the fan". The excitement isn't quite nearly what it should be come Friday.

TSN saying nothing is coming out of room, no rumors while that Detroit press woman, who isn't even there, keeps reporting from her "sources". Um...right.

I have to be up at 8:00-8:30ish but it's for a class where I have nothing going on, I'm staying up until this meeting is over and some sort of update is given even if it's just "we're not saying anything, we'll meet again tomorrow."

A relevant tweet, for the first time in forever!

Quote:
Hearing NHL and NHLPA have scaled back numbers involved in tonight's sessions. Down to 3 owners and far fewer players than earlier in day.

The more food they bring into this situation the more likely this turns into a Hunger Games sequel.

“@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Ron Hainsey meeting media now. Says both sides will meet again tomorrow. nothing else to say.”

“@DarrenDreger: Hainsey says meetings over and continues tomorrow.”

“@aaronward_nhl: Hainsey "we had a series of meetings tonight, very candid conversation, will have meetings tomorrow" #TSN”

“@DarrenDreger: A small distraction gathers media attention and allows a few players time to give us the slip. Very long day. Very little content.”
