Don't you mean trade up. Let's say we have the 4th-7th pick. I'd be happy with Monahan, Barkov or Lindholm

Need a #1 center, but I'd take Seth Jones at #2. I'd put money on him becoming Norris caliber. I'd almost rather select 3rd and not have to pass on Jones.

1) Mackinnon
2) Jones
3) Barkov

I'd like to get 15 votes to get as diverse an opinion range as possible, so if you have lurked this thread without voting, please do so. For the record, you are voting on who the Leafs should draft 2nd overall if Mackinnon is taken 1st overall.

MacKinnon
Jones
Barkov
Monahan
Lindholm

That's my order.

I'd take any of the top prospects to be honest but if I have to choose I think I take Monahan as the best fit.

I know, you're supposed to take BPA but I see them as very very close.

The NHL won't get anything done by the end of December. There is almost no way they can run a season from January-May(and include playoffs).

Unless the NHL forces teams to play 4-5 games a week(per team) and I don't see that happening. Injury bugs will pile up, and too much travel involved.

They'd also have to cancel any cross-conference games.

With that in mind, they should just call the whole season off by Dec. 31.

As for the draft order, the 1-7 picks from last year should get lottery treatment again, shuffle the 8-13 picks, the 14-20 picks...and again between 20-30.

I think letting the best teams have a shot at a top 5 pick isn't right.

You realze in 94 they played something like 48 games? And they made the deal just before the end of the January? These guys will do something like a 52 game season just to get enough games in, don't kid yourself.

Is Domi draft eligible this year? He is always around the puck and scoring plays. Something always positive happens when he is on the ice and fights back on every play to clog the middle on defence. Good player! I would try and find a way to get two first round pics and get him.

Well it's been a few days and it looks like the votes have stopped coming in, so I'm gonna move on to the next team. Thank you to everyone who shared their opinion, and at this team the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to select Aleksander Sasha Barkov from Tappara. I'll be posting the full draft in the Prospects forum as soon as I get all 30 teams' votes.
