A little late to this party, but O M G this kid is going to be good. Still has some holes to his game and his selfishness breaking out with the puck is because of Boughners style and gameplay. He did the same with Hall, but Ho-Sang is a fantastic passer so don't worry or be caught up in this selfishness.
He reminds me of a mixture of Kessel and Duchene.

I have season tickets for the spits for 15 years and this kid is close to as good as hall at the same age if not a bit better, when hallsy way here he had a great supporting cast with people like Joshua Bailey, Adam Henrique, Ryan Ellis, Greg Nemiz, and the list goess on, Ho-Sang dosent have that on this years handicaped offense and Sangg is getting throwin into a big role and has excelled in my view, he started a bit slow as most rookies do but then caught fire as his confidence grew, personally a think Josh has better playmaking and stickhandling abiltys then hall had at the same age, hallsy had a bit better shot and realease along with his explosive speed and thats no know on josh hes fast, with 5 goals and 17 assist through his first 28 games id say its safe to say if he stays healthy and plays 58/59 games he will finish with 13-16 goals and 35-40 assist atleast.this kid will be a treat to watch the rest of this season and next season because after that hes in the nhl no doubt...if he puts 15-20 pounds of mustle of him i think it would help him tho.

Didn't see it mentioned, but in case you missed it, here is my Beyond Tomorrow feature from a couple of weeks ago, with Josh as the focus of the article. Let me know what you think...

I appreciate the post, but it's tough to read when you go that long without a period.

That was in reference to his Minor Midget year.

Very nicely done. I like how you set it up with the Draft day conference call.

Agreed. Just for the sake of everything, his grandpa was Chinese where the name Ho-Sang came from, but I'm pretty sure he considers himself Jamaican.

My apologies.

I skimmed the thread pretty quickly, and must not have picked up on the Minor Midget reference.

And great video too!

How has Ho-Sang's play progressed this season? Haven't heard much about him lately.

despite a slow start, had a good year overall - 7th in rookie scoring (63 gp, 14g, 30a, 44pt)...2 of the 6 players in front of him were 95s.

showed signs of improving on his puck hog nature...but also killed his own stats a bit by not improving on that aspect enough...a number of times i cringed watching him insist on trying to carry the puck in only to be run over not to mention his "turnover" problem. still, as always with Hosang, the skill level is apparent.

if he can get it all together i think he'll either move into the top 10 next year or just drop (but i think he'll end up 1st round in any event)

why was bennett picked for U18 over him? surely it was for more than being a former "linemate of mcdavid"

Electrifying player from these highlights, should be really interesting to see his progression next year. Also love the cockiness. I think PK Subban has showed you can be cocky without being selfish and that it can raise your game to another level - Ho-Sang seems like the type of player that same philosophy can be applied to, the key is walking that line. Hopefully JHS can do it because I think his brashness is a huge part of driving his exciting style of play.

I do, because I'm one of the ethnicities and it's really cool to see somebody with a shared background succeeding in things. It's harder to understand if you're not a visible minority I think but it's a cool feeling when somebody is achieving things from a similar background.

Heheheh "just" white. Your racism speaks volumes.

My racism? 99% of NHL players are white so it's obviously a bit of a different feeling. Poorly worded on my part. Will edit that so it doesn't sound so weird.

Don't turn this into a racism debate, for everyone's sake.

And he seems to be a really exciting player, can't wait to see how he does next year.

Fair enough. Would have been fine had you just said you're cheering for him simply because you share the same ethnicity. The comment about not understanding because you're just white is what left a bad taste.

Onward and upward.

I think this is what is holding him back. Playing his own system. Testing the authority and patience of his coaching staff by not listening or buying into team concepts on a consistent basis.

Where do you guys see him going next year? During the lockout I saw a couple games and he really impressed me.

It's pretty early, but right now I have him around #10-15.
