We didn't take 14 forwards last time did we? Is this a new rule or something?

I went with MSL. I did not care for Thornton/Getzlaf in 2010, and that was on small ice. As for the remaining three; I don't feel either of them will out-produce MSL enough to warrant a spot, hypothetically speaking.

It's funny because any one of these players would be a lock on any other team.

I think Joe Thornton is currently better than all of the bolded players, so him. I guess that could change over time, the 2014 Olympics are still a bit over a year away, but my money's on jumbo Joe making the team.

Spezza is IMO a better hockey player than Perry. I'm not saying who is more likely to make team Canada, I think Perry is more likely to make it than Spezza since he's a natural winger (and Canada has a shortage of wing talent and an excess of centre talent), but I do think Spezza is a better player than Perry.

I agree (except for maybe Perry), can't believe Jumbo Joe is being passed over.

I don't get how you can put Eberle that high and not have Benn on the roster. Benn hits a hell of a lot more, blocks more shots and shoots more. He also plays in all situations and can play center or wing.

I feel St. Louis will still be high caliber by then, at 39. His veteran presence is also worth a lot amongst all these youngsters.

Approximate age of the players in two years:

Forwards:
Sidney Crosby (27)
Steven Stamkos (24)
Jonathan Toews (26)
Claude Giroux (26)
John Tavares (24)
Corey Perry (29)
Mike Richards (29)
Jason Spezza (31)
Eric Staal (30)
Rick Nash (30)
Jordan Eberle (24)
Patrice Bergeron (29)
Jarome Iginla (37)

Defensemen:
Shea Weber (27)
Alex Pietrangelo (24)
Drew Doughty (24)
Duncan Keith (31)
Kris Letang (27)
Brent Seabrook (29)
Dan Hamhuis (31)

Goalies:
Carey Price (27)
Cam Ward (30)
Roberto Luongo (35)

Average age= 28.3
