I understand the strategical logic of having Gally play the year out in junior, while orchestrating a tank for the big club.

But from what I've seen of Gally recently, I think he's ready for the NHL. I also think it will go along way towards him being ready to be a contributer for next season to get a good feel at the league this year.

He can't play in the AHL next season. It's Sarnia or Montreal (or Europe).

BTW, Gally and the Sting visit Saginaw tonight.

True. We'll see then. Maybe next year, he could centre the first line in Sarnia.

I miss tonight's game. Tomorrow, they face Brady Vail and the Windsor Spitfires.

I wouldn't mind having Galchenyuk's development pushed back a season if it means having another star forward or defence on the team. Adding a player like Barkov or Lindholm will solidify our centre position for years to come, we would have went from a position of weakness to one of strength.
Imagine:
Galchenyuk
Barkov/Lindholm
Plekanec
Eller

P.S I understand that this is better suited for the draft thread, sorry!

And that's why I personally think it's best he simply plays with the Habs next year. Will he learn that much spending another year in Sarnia? I'd like to see the Habs and coaching staff use him the way Julien and the Bruins used Seguin in his 1st season

He will play with the Habs next year. There will be nothing left for him down in the OHL after this season.

Play the WJC's. Hopefully traded to a contender. Play a long play-off run. Prepare during off-season, make Habs out of training camp.

I've actually always lived in Ontario. Lived about an hour from Montreal and Ottawa until 2007, but I've been living in Chatham (an hour from Windsor, Sarnia and London) since then.

haha, definitely won't be filming the game but I'll certainly do my best to write up a nice report on Gally's game.

Have fun at the game. I've had the priviledge of watching him via stream every game, but from what I've heard, seeing him in action live at the arena is something else. The streams do not do his game any justice.

Well i never ever said he was ready to dominate the NHL. Only when i look at our top 9 forwards, i have to think that he's better than at least a couple of them right now. If he's NHL ready and can play on our team with either Plekanec or Eller as his center then why not?

How many top 3 picks spend time in the AHL? Guys like Seguin, Landeskog and Duchesne were good enough to step right in...i get that Galchenyuk had something to prove after his lost season last year, but at this point i think he's proving to us all that he's too good for his current league and possibly ready for another challenge.

I saw every Sarnia game this season. I must say, Alex Galchenyuk looks very much like a mix between Jonathan Toews and RNH. I compare that because like Toews he's very good two way player and can play in any situation. He's a beast like Toews, and Gally has soft hands like RNH. I'm not saying he's as offensive as the Nuge but the way he handles the puck and makes everything look easy.

For all those old timers like me, I would say he's a bit like Ron Francis.

Hmmm...did your location always say Ontario then? Seems like I just noticed it now.

Either way, enjoy the game!

It's always the same thing, right? People from Quebec are ruled from the Ontario, with a few Montreal collaborators

1-0

Davis Brown first career OHL goal! What a shot!

What a roll he's been on lately. 4 points in 4 games since returning from injury.
