I am completely disgusted with what the NHL doing right now. NHLPA seems to have reasonable offer, and NHL leadership are becoming intolerable children.

Cancel the season now and get it over with.

NHL is going ot say that the NHLPA wouldn't accept reasonable limits on contracts and weren't interested in realistic bargaining and blah blah

Tim Panaccio ‏@tpanotchCSN
Bill Daly and Bettman will arrive shortly for their presser

Nick Kypreos ‏@RealKyper
Note on #NHL #NHLPA transition rules. As of 24hrs ago Bettman against one time "amnesty" clause allowing teams to eliminate bad contracts.

Yup. I mean we have incomplete info but if the NHL is really throwing in the towel over a couple years difference in contract lengths and some fiddly **** like that then I hope they're ready to burn the league to the ground to get what they want

Fehr thinks the league will do better than this, and won't budge on his end right now. Nothing's ever easy with this guy.

Feel bad for that Burton guy. He got suckered, and I think Jacobs was behind that.

#CBA According to voicemail, NHL said either something or everything is off the table. NHLPA seeking clarity on this.

Love that the deal got rejected over a voice mail, I mean at least get one of the Fehr guys on the phone to discuss what exactly is wrong.

Voice mail? They didn't even have the guts to deliver the message face to face (or at least voice to voice)?

Typical of ownership from day one of the fiasco. There has never been a more stupid group of men assembled in one place (well I take that back, there have been a few others, but not many) than the owners of NHL teams.

What a joke. The sides are within spitting distance and the owners reject the proposal outright instead of saying lets talk some more about this?

Cowardice, stupidity, shortsightedness...thy name is Bettman, Daly, et al.

....well,that's at this second. Where does this soap opera go from here?

This has always been a big part of the NHL's negotiating "strategy". Make ultimatums, damming statements, threaten to take things away, etc. It's part of the reason this has been such a problem

The NHLPA should just say "well our offer is still on the table and we'll be ready to engage in discussions when the NHL is ready to see reason"

Who cares! If every season ticket holder does not cancel their tickets for good, then don't complain about this! Don't give me the argument that 10 people are inline behind you, oh well, let them fork over the cash!

So the process is:

1. Report it the media
2. Seek clarification

With 4 new owners (pitts, TOR, etc) in the negotiations, I now believe that many more than 8 owners are supporting the lockout at this point.

Honestly I can see the owners getting mad that Fehr had a press conference and rejected the offer purely because of that.

Ignore the noise. They are so close to a deal. The NHL got Fehr to put contract term limits on paper. Don't listen to the BS. A little more yin and yang.

If we cancel our subscriptions how are the poor players going to get paid?

Last year the NHL was able to finally get the entire LA market into hockey. This year they took a dump on that and lost hockey in not only LA but a lot of other places as well.

In Spain, when people are unhappy about something there are riots. Wonder when Canadians take matters into their own hands and have a Vancouver moment again to end this lock out.

Take one for the team Canada.

We'll count you as one of many, Im sure, that fell for Fehr's grandstanding hook line and sinker.
