Bob McKenzie: "Talked to a lot of players and they want a 10 year deal. They want the security." Has Fehr ever explained the short-term CBA?

Because all the players have 10 year, 80 million dollar contracts. Because the average 4th liner who is losing their paychecks right now will really benefit if Gomez and Cole aren't forced to give up $1M dollars in a few years. You really think the average grinder who already has a short career has anything to gain from giving up a years salary?

In regards of @adater's retweet, that right there is why Fehr has been a bigger problem than Bettman. Players were ready to play.

No one is saying that, so essentially you have no argument. I never really understood why people state stuff like this when they have nothing else better to say.

Bottom line here: Players say they are unified, but not what I'm hearing from this depth player. They'll deny that publicly, but...

Interesting developments. I wonder if the PA have internal divide now.

That Larry Tannenbaum, the rep for the richest team in the league who can afford outspending other teams and who actually benefits from some of the player demands, left in anger and is now on the hardliners side is telling.

Fehr moved the goalposts last night and shot down all trust that was built up.

The players have followed Don Fehr up till now with smiles on their faces. It will be interesting to see if they can keep all that positive energy going as time goes on.

Campoli's interview on TSN radio is brutal. He has no idea what he's talking about. Just regurgitating rhetoric and sounds completely shaken.

Fehr did not hold a player-wide conference call in saying that, important to note. Came from top down, trickle-down

And this is exactly the problem. Fehr isn't serving everyone, he's serving a quarter of the players.

Russo has been going off since the Bettman conference. It's funny seeing Walsh get so desperate.

I really wonder why more players haven't spoken out.

If you think that is the main sticking point you aren't paying attention.

We're seeing now the fruition of a two-tier economic system among players. Top guys in Europe, taking jobs, making $. Bottom guys suffering

People need to think here.

It's hard to say what the sticking point is when it has changed every day.

Hate to pick sides, but the NHLPA looks really bad after all of this. The PR war has shifted completely to the NHL's side.

Dreger is saying that many players are asking why Fehr didn't put the NHL's proposal to a vote to the PA.

The Campoli interview was sad. He was clearly shooken up. He kept spewing rhetoric, but it was clear that he was down.

adater said his anonymous source is considering putting his name in. There could finally be a rebellion; if it's a North American he won't get marginalized the way Hamrlik and Jagr were.
