That 4 way deal makes no sense to me. It should just be the Rangers and DBacks in a 2 team trade.
Yeah, I don't get that either. That would be a horrific deal for Arizona. Heck, just Cabrera for Upton would be terrible. Not only is Upton so much better but Cabrera is OLDER. I really hope they don't do that.

Asdrubal is my favorite Indian, but I'd love to have Bauer and Skaggs. Bauer marches to the beat of a different drummer, but if he can walk less guys, he'll be dominant.

He's a 21 year old who was a little over matched in his first go in the big leagues. In short, he'll be fine.

The only thing to worry about is the fastball movement. It's a little less than you'd like for a guy who pitches up in the zone like Bauer, but he's got the stuff to play off of it with.

I think Towers has an issue with Bauer's off field stuff.

I would certainly hang onto Bauer if I'm the Dbacks. By the way, I know they are very high on Archie Bradley also. Does anybody know anything about him? I've heard of him but I'm not too familiar.

Had a football scholarship (dont recall which college) but Arizona ponied up and got him signed. High 90s and will touch triple figures ocassionaly.

Bauer's size is also somewhat of a concern IMO.

Not a problem for a 19 year old just as long as he keeps improving.

He gets enough leverage out of his delivery to dispel this concern for me.

I've spent the better part of a decade cultivating a deep hatred for Youk which undoes all the benefits of trolling Sox fans.

I despise Youk too but if he ever put on the pinstripes I'd forget all about that.

This is awesome:

http://triblive.com/sports/pirates/3...#axzz2EQ03R8ZV

Quote:
Scott Boras talked to Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about the Pirates' controversial military training regiment for minor leaguers and the Bucs' failure to sign right-hander Mark Appel, who the Pirates chose with the eighth overall selection in last year's amateur draft. Boras believes the Pirates erred by not informing he and Appel about the pick beforehand: "There was no communication with us (before the draft). We would’ve been happy to have given them an advance (notice) that they could’ve used their pick in (another) way. We certainly would’ve let them know we didn’t have a fit there."
How embarrassing this is. The best player in last years draft pretty much telling the Pirates to bugger off. It will be fun to see what happens when the Flubs choose Appel next year.
