It's stupid. This is the one time you're actually allowed to go over the salary cap (to resign players), but this dumb game doesn't let you. Not including that they get players asking for ridiculous contracts. EA needs to fix these $$ problems.

Your 50 contracts is there so that you don't go overboard signing draft picks that don't need to be signed yet and putting yourself at the limit. AHL players are still on NHL contracts, just 2 way deals. The cap is pretty realistic in game IMO. The only thing is there is no cushion period like IRL where we can go over the cap. The players asking for these high costs are all somewhat realistic.. I mean Lucic grew to an 88, Crosby is what like 92? That is a pretty high end forward. 7.1 is a little steep but I bet he's trying to lock him up long term and making his asking price go up.

Crosby-95. It just seems that some are counting to cap, some are not.

Any player on your 23 man roster counts towards your cap. You are also paying half the salary of any of your players claimed on waivers, as far as I know. Buyouts are included in that.

I was referring to Lucic asking 7.1M.

Does that deal about trading recently-signed UFAs also count with RFAs?

Also, I went sign happy my first couple of days and am now perilously close to running out of contracts. Did not realize there was a limit. Doesn't screw me over as I've got everyone under contract now, but sure should have checked on that beforehand.

Sergei, are we sure everyone is getting their guys signed up? I don't want it to be a situation where a few guys didn't have a chance to sign their guys and all their guys become free agents.

Either way we can just not sign their players until they are ready. Plus if they're players aren't signed and stuff, they clearly aren't active enough lol.

Not that I'm about to snap up any free agents but I think if you aren't active enough to sign your guys, then sorry to you. Everyone's pretty much been warned multiple times.

Completely agree. Be it a game or not, it is competitive, and if you didn't do what you should have while 29 other people did, it's no one else's fault.

Naw, don't worry, you can trade RFAs whenever.

I know for a fact that everyone has had at least one crack at resigning their owns guys. I made the effort to check everyones contract situation and make sure that they weren't too bad and contact all the people who I hadn't heard from in this thread in the past couple of days or so and that's about all I can do. I've got finals beginning in the next couple of the days so, if ya snooze, ya lose on this one. I've done my part for them. I'll let this sim not happen for at least 24 hours, though.

So who is not signing players that have an 80+ overall? I think the highest OVR that I'm not signing is BMo (77).

Theres a pretty good chance that the Senators and Paul Ranger 79 might not come to terms. Hes being unreasonable and wants close to 3 mill. My last offer this AM was for 2.2 1 YR will see how this plays out

First asking price for lucic was 7.2 for 3 years. I offered 7 for 5, he declined so i matched the 7.2 but for 7 years

Only player to take a pay cut was seguin who i got for a reasonable 4.7 considering he was asking for 5.3

EDM has so much FAs with only a bit cap left for them. I'm not resigning Hannan though.
