I'm more impressed with the numbers the guy from the other team had. David Larson scored 70 points and shot 73%. He didn't have any threes and only made two free throws.

Taylor's 138 points is impressive but he took 108 shots including 71 threes. What were the other players on his team doing during the game?

There was an article I read about why he was able to score so much based on the coaches strategy, and why the record should be considered a sham. Pretty funny.

found it

Unsurprising that Kobe is impressed with this, he's probably pulling the strings to have D'Antoni gone and bringing in the Grinnell coaching staff right now.

No defense was played in this game. It was a one on one between Taylor and Larson for 40 minutes.

Why not double or even triple team him? After he scored 100 points you would think it would be time to change something.

108 shots, 71 three-point attempts and zero assists?

Should be embarressed after that game, not proud.

Can't remember how many pts he had but it wasn't 100

Wasn't even close to 50

Very overrated performance. A triple double is way more impressive than cherry picking the other end of the floor to chuck up 3's.

Oh stop it. He scored 138 points in 40 minutes. You try running up and down the court and shooting the ball that much.

From what I've read, he didn't do any running up and down, though.

If that's the case, he should have been easier to guard...

Easier than playing defense. In highlights vid, he was on the other end of the court, team lobbying passes to him after they got scored in.

They were trying for a scoring record, no intention of winning the game.

If you read the deadspin article on this he basically stayed on one side of the court. If the team doesn't get a turnover while the other team is bringing the ball up court they let the other team score and then chuck it down to this kid where he jacks up a 3. They also pick out the weakest opponent on their schedule to break these records against.

Sounds like he'd fit right in with Kobe.....
