I can't see taking any of Tarasenko, Galchenyuk, Larsson, Huberdeau, Murray, Hamilton, Rielly, Granlund, Baertschi, etc. over RNH, and I definitely can't see going with Kuznetsov, since he may never even come to the NHL. For me it's really down to RNH vs. Yakupov, and personally I'd side with RNH. If we include players eligible for the 2013 draft, it gets more interesting: RNH or MacKinnon?
I see Kuznetsov coming to the NHL after his contract in 2 years or whenever it ends. If so, I definitely take Kuznetsov easily.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
The point I'm trying to make is that he was born in the September to December range, which means he likely has an extra year experience playing hockey compared to players born in the January to August range. So he wasn't "an 18 year old rookie" if you know what I mean.
One might argue that Skinner's rookie season was better if you include 18 year olds not drafted first overall though.
If you really want to get technical then you could argue that being born in the January to August range is actually a benefit to RNH.

Coming from me,a caps fan, who has actually seen what he can do in the KHL rather than just assuming RNH is better because you've seen him play half a season in the NHL,and it's just my honest opinion that Kuznetsov is better than RNH. Also, I would absolutely love to hear how you came up with those statistics about 99% of teams.
You would trade a 1st overall center who had the best 18 year old season since Crosby for a player who has yet to play in NA? Sasha is a great player, but I think he would need to prove himself in the NHL first.

But RNH is better (when healthy) and will be in the NHL while Kuznetsov won't. So...

He, Tarasenko, and Yakupov are the only 3 prospects I think you could make a case for over RNH. Personally, I'd still take RNH because he's a center and has played in the NHL already, but I wouldn't be surprised if any of those 3 established themselves as being as good or better than him.

Yea you could make a case for them, I just don't see it happening. Kuznetsov would have to put up crazy numbers to be on RNH's level.

So do you think Kuznetsov would have put up RNH numbers as a 18 year old rookie?
The NHL is the best league in the world for a reason, and RNH was dominating in his first season.
As for the last part, any GM in the league would be stupid not to take RNH over a guy that COULD be better, and especially one that has a high chance for the russian factor attached to him.
Lets wait and see how he does in the NHL first. If he ever comes to the NHL.
