Oiler's top six is getting less soft IMO.
-Hall crushes Brodin, breaks collar bone (and has been known to throw big body checks already)
-RNH standing up Brendan Morrow last year, and has shown he won't shy away from the physical stuff, is also the kind of guy to "take numbers"
-Yakupov getting a game misconduct for the elbow to the head today
-Hemsky has always been willing to get hit to make a play
Yakpuov has shown he is physical by his play in junior. I don't think he's averse to throwing his weight around. In the Oilers top 6 he would already be the most physical of the group... admittedly that's a pretty soft top 6.
No. Hall is definitely more physical, and Nuge is arguably more physical. He'd definitely help our top 6 add a little grit though

Hall hitting a 19 year old isn't nothing special.
Anyone can elbow anyone in the head. Gilbert had a fine for a headshot last year or the year before.
Hemsky has always been that guy, his body just hasn't be able to hold up.
I'm not going to get too excited at this point. Yes the team will be less soft as time goes on, but it's not only about being less soft. Be nice to be the team that is out there initiating contact play after play, at the NHL level.
Hall has shown flashes of going for the big hit, such as Brodin this year, Gardiner and Gionta last year.
I think its safe to say Nuge is a gritty player. The guy wont take **** from nobody, takes numbers down, claws and fights in every puck battle.
Ebs is pretty soft.
Yak has shown glimpses of aggressiveness but nothing too much IMO. I think he will be the type of player that starts playing feisty when hes riled up though.
MPS has started to show grit, far better than his rookie season, but still nothing great yet.
Hartikainen grittiest of all of them. Makes huge hit and protects the puck like a boss, just brushing people off with one hand.
Hemsky like others have said, has shown he can take, and give up the body to make plays. Its just a matter if his body can withstand that.

Hall was also very physical with Doughty. I would say he is the most willing to throw the body.
5 shots on goal though... in all honesty, thats all i'm really looking at for him... he is a high event guy, so shots on goal are one of the best indicators of how his offence is coming... not unlike ovi (not saying yak is the same as ovi, just that they both rely upon high shot totals)

Yeah thats what I noticed too. Saw the stats at the end of the second period and he had 5 shots on goal then which is pretty damn good for 2 periods. I was really hoping he wold get one in the third but it doesn't seem like he got any chances.
I agree... he's actually amongst the leaders in the KHL in shots per game... and considering he doesn't get huge minutes yet... that's pretty impressive offensively.
If he keeps shooting the puck he'll bury some of them eventually... and gradually as he gets more ice time (when the coach gives him more responsibilities and he improves his defensive game)... he'll take that next step up into the elite ranks.
