Article: Ducks Find Success in Unconventional Draft Picks

Hey guys,

Recently got picked up to cover the Ducks over at The Hockey Writers. I'm a bit of a prospect/draft fanatic and I've always appreciated the Ducks willingness to get creative with their picks and take chances, which inspired my first article. Check it out.

Quote:
A brief look at the Anaheim Ducks recent drafting history shows willingness on the team’s part to sway from these conventions. Whether it’s snagging a highly-touted player who’s slipping, going off the board with their selection, or drafting players from non-traditional hockey backgrounds, the Ducks have proven that they are not shy about going with their gut, and it appears as though it may be paying off.

I think people forget about how good Fowler can be sometimes, the load he's had to carry so far in his career has been ridiculous I really felt like this year was going to be his breakout season #lockout

Who knows, this lockout might be a pressure reliever for Cam. He can come back a little more seasoned and confident.
