Actually 10 shots on goal, 15 in total. He was really good all-around and could have had another if an opponent had not got a stick between him and an empty net. 20 minutes is a lot for a guy that doesn't PK, but he was moved up to the 1st PP-line.

Hopefully this performance kick-starts his season with his coach showing some faith in him.
1. Is Sproul's team any good defensively? Are the GA his fault? +/- can be a very misleading stat.
2. AA2 is rocketing (excuse the pun) up the rankings, compared to where we had him in the offseason.
3. 15 shots for Pulkkinen? Holy ****! At least he got a goal to show for it.
4. Great for Bäckman. Anyone have reliable link to the schedule/streams for the tournament?
Sproul's team isn't very good defensively at all. They currently sit 4th in the league in goals against. Giving up a hair over 4 goals per game (121 in 30 games)
Best on the team is +9 and worst on the team is -11. But Sproul's offence definitely keeps his +/- above where it should be.
Another goal for Pulkkinen today, a redirect on a Karlsson shot. Looked like pure luck but everything counts. Also had the highest icetime among forwards and 5 shots, 4 on goal.

KP on CAN WJC: Ryan Sproul and Ryan Murphy battling for the PP QB job
KP=Kevin Prendergast, Canada's chief scout.
Figured that would be the spot Sproul would have if he makes it. Anything can happen in camp but right now I would give the nod to Murphy, he has more experience playing for Hockey Canada as well as his familiarity with HC Steve Spott

That's great to here. I see pulkkinen as a guy who plays off confidence. Meaning if his coaches are using him or people are talking about him in a good way he performs. At this point I think he takes any garbage points and rolls with it.
Since we've pretty much given up hope on Pulkkinen's season being as good as previous ones, a good second half would make up for some of it. Going into the off-season with confidence before crossing the pond would seem of importance.
I've gotta say I'm pretty stoked about how are guys are doing right now. Pulkkinnen was slow out of the gate but he's turned it on now, Jarnkrok is producing as he should, Frk, Nyquist, Tatar, etc are doing as we hoped. Then throw in the surprises like Ferraro, Sheahan, AA, Almqvist. We then have Smith, Sproul, Ouellet & Backman for our defenceman that look like their top 4 bound, with Nedomlel, Marchenko, Jensen looking almost like 4/5/6 guys. With Mrazek, Patersson & a rebounding McCollum we're fine in net.
I think if we were able to use Brunner as a prospect we would have a top 3 prospect pool in the league. All of this without a top 20 pick in 7 years, that is impressive which ever way you slice it.

As I was falling asleep last night I had Sportcentre on in the back ground and they were talking to Spott and Murphy about him potentially being on the team. Spott said that Murphy has his endorsement but hes going to have to convince the rest of the staff. Based on play this year, Sproul probably does deserve that PP spot.
I also read that they think Dumba has been playing poorly this year and only got an invite because one of the Sutters said they should give him a shot in camp.
Looks like Sprouls chances might be better then we thought. I mean in half the games played he has like 4 less points than Murphy and more goals. Plus he's 6'4 and can play a bit physical. If Spott wasnt coaching it would be a no brainer

He was also killing penalties. Though his and Steve Moses' role wasn't normal penalty killing, their job was to look for breakaways in the neutral zone and that tactical ploy seemed to work since TPS didn't know what to do (this happened later on in the game if I've understood correctly).
Jensen 1+0, +1 and 3rd star
Marshall 0+0, +/- 0
De Haas 0+0
McKee 1+0, +/- 0, 29 PIM
After a couple of quiet games, our beloved Mikey has 46 PIM in his last 2 games. But he also has 1G 1A and a +2 in those two.
Last night:
Lincoln - Mike McKee - (Checking from Behind), 2 MIN, 2:06
Lincoln - Mike McKee - (Checking from Behind) (Misconduct), 10 MIN, 2:06
Lincoln - Mike McKee - (Slashing), 2 MIN, 45:07
Lincoln - Mike McKee - (Fighting) (Major), 5 MIN, 45:07
Lincoln - Mike McKee - (Unsportsmanlike Conduct) (Misconduct), 10 MIN, 55:09
Mckee might set a PIM record in that league actually lol
Glad Athanasiou is keeping it up this season, seems like hes actually getting along with the dressing room. Hope hes not a guy that just gets along with the guys while the teams doing well and hes getting lots of ice time.
He may have a shot for the world junior team next year if he keeps it up
