Still looking for a 3-4 OFD or TWD D-man! Anisimov or others on the table. Only player I wouldn't be interested in moving that d-man for would be B. Schenn. PM me if interested!

not entirely true, i have 9 million dollars in cap space...i could go out and sign pitkanen, heatley or s.kosty to a ridiculous contract but I dont need any of them per se

Leaning toward holding on to Nash and Gaborik for the start of the season, but I'm still willing to move a defenseman--preferrably Sauer (26, LH-DFD, 82 overall), but possibly Michael Del Zotto (LH-OFD, 83).

I'm looking for a LW of a roughly similar age--23-26 or so, 80-82 overall, with some POT, or perhaps a slightly lesser LW + a depth defenseman.

EDIT: Obviously, I'd want a higher-end player for MDZ.

Just my opinion, it's good for the flexibility it allows, especially if you end up with players wanting substantial raises the following season.
My thoughts pretty much. Not to mention, it means that Heatly, Vokoun, Pitkanen etc...will be UFAs again next year too. Which gives us a better chance at having a deeper UFA pool.

If you have the cap space to sign a player to a big one year deal then that means...

a) You've managed your cap well

and/or

b) You dont have as many Superstar players as somem of the other teams in the league that are closer to the cap

Hmm, if someone offered a huge 1 year deal to Heatley I might need to send some more offers.

I wonder if UFA's have "favorite teams"? I know in offline Be A GM, free agents prefer some teams over others.

Rafael Diaz certainly seems to dislike the Habs...offered him more than he's asking for a few times and he keeps refusing. My seemingly deep D is now pretty shallow because I had a lot of my guys refuse offers.

Not sure who sent a trade request. But unfortunately I won't be around until sometime later tonight and EA's app doesn't let you see what the trade request is.

That said, kindly shoot me a pm so we can discuss!

Don't think I've been this excited for Free Agency. Kinda sent some crazy offers.

Im really glad i bolstered up my D this year. Seems like a few people are where I was last season with a really shallow D depth. D really does make a huge difference in how a game plays out. Hopefully will have that shutdown D finally...

Trade block updated.

TBH to me it's just about having that dynamite solid top 4 cause the other two guys barely play at all. Depth is great if one of the top 4 get injured, and I love having a huge shutdown dman in my bottom 6 to specialize on the PK (doesn't need speed or offense cause he only plays in the D zone), but nothing can shake a boss top 4.

I know that its just a game and all that but what i've noticed and that is quite funny is that people jump out in free agency looking to make a huge splash by giving out unmerited contracts to some of the UFAs but when it happens in the real NHL we curse all kinds (when they dont pan out)

the responsibility thus lies within the moral heart and conscience of the player to choose his contract haha

Eh. Jackman is 33.. why not just ride him out for a year, insert Despres back into your top 4 next year? Or keep him around for injuries, which are bound to happen.

What you're doing is the equivalent to me trading B. Schenn because I have Fisher for another year.

good point, im thinking now because I have Despres for another 3 years at a really cheap cap hit, but we'll see how the season goes I guess.

so im not allowed to trade original players? By the end of this league our teams will look barely like they do in real life because of how much time has passed, and the trades that we will inevitably make. If it bothers you guys this much ill pull him off the market.

****, looks like nobody wants to sign with the Caps... Probably caught wind of the coach's tendency last year to only play favorites and not spread out the minutes evenly...

Guess they didn't get the memo about the we era caps, v2.0 baby! Awww yeahhhh.

No i'd bet that the majority of teams will still have their core group of guys for another 4-5 seasons. People give you a hard time because in two season you traded away...

Malkin, Neal, Fluery, Sutter, Morrow, Martin. The only guys you have left on your roster that a Pens fan would recognize are Crosby, Kunitz, Letang, Orpik, and Dupuis. Now you want to trade ANOTHER one of your own guys.

I said this in Sitwell to the Anaheim GM, if you're going to blow up your team, why did you pick that team? Doesn't make any sense.
