My brother just sent me a video of Karlsson scoring into his own net. What's the best Jokerit-era highlight I can send in response?

When and where? There was no game after the one that I posted the highlights from. Next game is tomorrow in Biel/Bienne against Seguin and Kane.

How has Teuvo Teräväinen looked for Jokerit? I was hoping we would draft him last year.

He's been great, especially now when he's playing in Jokerit's first line because Valtteri Filppula got injured.

Here's stats for him so you can see for yourself.

http://www.sm-liiga.fi/pelaajat/12-1...ottelulta.html

# = Number of games played
Päivä = Date
Ottelu = Match
M = Goals
S = Assists
P = Points
+ = +
- = -
+/- = +/-
L = Shots
R = PIM
Aika = TOI

So he has 8+10=18 points in 23 games with -1.

Karlsson and Turris played against each other today. Karlsson's team won.

Karlsson's stats:

Karlsson after 26 games: G 7, A 16, P 23, +/- +10, S 204, PIM 12, average TOI 25:32.

Turris's stats:

DEC 7, 2012: KÄRPÄT @ JOKERIT 5 - 6
G 1, A 1, P 2, +/- +2, S 5, PIM 4, TOI 21:38

Kyle after 20 games: G 7, A 11, P 18, +/- +9, S 89, PIM 24, TOI 19:49

Highlights later.

Karlsson's shot count gets me all the time. 14 shots ... how is that even possible?
Do they also count in those that were blocked and went wide?

Karlsson shoots a lot so he can make the best pass in hockey, the rebound!

Karlsson is a boss, that much is certain. But how about our boy Turris? He's the player I was most excited to see this year on the Sens, and judging by his play over in the Finnish league he is ready to live up to his draft position. I havent actually read much about his play over there, is it as decent as his stats would indicate?

Aside from Karlsson, this could easily be the Murray regimes best move. There's a reason phoenix didnt want to let him go, despite it being clear he wanted no part of their organization. He may not ever be an elite #1 center (not that we need him to be), but Im nearly certain he's going to be an awesome #2.

Even better. Turris actually went through a patch of games early on the year where he was so pissed at himself for not scoring enough of his chances and just couldn't buy one. Turris has also been much stronger physically making a lot of power moves to the net beating the defender and seems to be the focal centerpiece of offense on his line.

Like you, the player I was most eager to see was Turris more than anyone.

Yes, all shots towards goal are counted, whether the shot goes wide, is blocked or is on goal.

For example, here's the shot chart for the latest Jokerit - Kärpät game.

http://sjlrap01.lahtis-enterprises.c...ON=2013&SHOW=2

Black is goal, orange means shot went wide, blue is save by goalie and green means blocked shot.

For example, if you look at Karlsson's shots, 5 of them went wide and 9 were saved by the goalie. For Turris 1 shot resulted in a goal and 4 shots were saved by the keeper.

Though having watched him play only when Kärpät plays against Karlsson's Jokerit, he has been really good. Jokerit's dmen are almost always in trouble when Kyle is on the ice. Stats don't lie.

Jesse Winchester played today also. It seems I have forgotten to put his stats here from his previous game. Oh well.

DEC 1, 2012: TUTO HOCKEY @ LEKI 3 - 5
G 0, A 0, P 0, +/- -1, S 1, PIM 4, TOI 16:22

DEC 7, 2012: HOKKI @ TUTO HOCKEY 1 - 4
G 0, A 0, P 0, +/- -1, S 2, PIM 32, TOI 02:49

In 9 games, Jesse's stats:
G 3, A 6, P 9, +/- +4, S 32, PIM 54

Highlights from DEC 7 game where Jesse got thrown out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3NDbA32vZ4

The whole situation starts @ 0:31 when Winchester draws a penalty and completely loses it. He protests the call and hits the plexiglass. The commentator says that the referee's lower lip is quivering, he's fearing for his life. Jesse even goes to the opponent's bench @ 1:30 to pick a fight.

First he gets 2 minutes for roughing (a questionable call as you can see) then 10 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct. Then 3 minutes later when Winchester is still protesting his penalty strongly, the referees give him 20 minutes and when he was leaving the rink, Hoki's player attacked Jesse.

Later Jesse said: "I'm really sorry for my team and for the fans. I got frustrated because other players can make foul plays against me but if I check somebody I get a penalty immediately. This has been going on for nine games and this time I lost my temper. Frankly I feel really embarrassed right now."

edit: TuTo's commentator is one of the weirdest and funniest in the world. It's hard to start explaining because he speaks Finnish but some translation examples from the highlight reel. 2:26: "Let us be silent and watch the dance girls and stop talking cr*p for awhile. The cameraman is a bit on the hungrier side again."
3:16: "The goal song has been going on for too long already. Quite heavy song but we haven't heard this too often this season."
3:25: "I don't know but Oremo (referee's surname) looks really concentrated, is he playing the newest Call of Duty with his friends or what is he doing?"
