If you could start an NHL team with any winger, who would it be?

He's a good choice too, but Kovy and Ovy are better and aren't exactly old either, they'd go ahead him for now.

If we're including age, gotta go with Hall. And honestly I don't think he's close to being the best winger, but he's a captain and a helluva player. But with his injuries I'd have to go with perry.

If I'm starting a franchise and this winger's going to be my franchise player, I'm probably not going to be very good for a while. Therefore I'm going young, and probably taking Landeskog, with Hall being a close second. Unless Seguin in counts as a winger... then I would probably go with him.

Parise will not be that good in lets say 5 years, because his skill comes from his speed and after that goes his game goes

Why is Landeskog's name even being mentioned in this thread?

Because he's a good player. There's a reason he was named captain after only one year.

Of course he is.

Better than the likes of Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, Perry or Parise?

Well Ovechkin is outperforming Kovalchuk in the KHL.

In fact they had a version of Bruce Boudrea in Ska with Kovalchuk, which got fired because they felt as thought they would again get crushed by Dynamo.

As far as the future for the Capitals, Kuznetsov is perfect.

All of those guys are 7-10 years older than Landeskog. If you're starting a franchise around this winger, I would want the guy who could give you 10 more quality years of play, even if he's a bit less skilled than the alternative.

He's right up there with those guys for sure because of his all around play. Add the fact he's so young, will only get better and is the ultimate leader, that's exactly the type of winger you want to build your team around.

I would love to see someone try to make an actual, fact based argument for taking Perry over Ovechkin. Seriously.
