Obviously size is a factor, but at 24 he's at the same age as Frattin yet currently producing at a better PPG while Frattin gets all the love.
Frattin has earned the praise he's gotten. Abbot hasn't gotten a consistent chance yet, but when fans get to see him more regularly, he'll also get the consistent praise if he's proven that he deserves it.
Sorry guys, the no stream on Sunday was my fault. I cancelled Leafs TV on the 1st thinking no season and any Marlies games they do broadcast I can watch via a stream. So Sunday at 3:30 I think well the streams should be up and running now and I sit down to watch the game(might as well use the internet TV) and...the hockey gods show how much they truly dislike me.
I hope Fraser is in the line up tonight so he can feed Foligno on prime time television.
Would lile to see Ross take a run at him personally. I know ross would be severly overmatched in weight class but i have a feeling he could get under his skin and coax him into some unnecessary penalties.
But ya fraser or holzer i would like to see drop'em. I think its going to be another rough game.

That would be nice. Ross needs to do something to show he's a legitimate prospect and a willingness to take on a far bigger player like Foligno would be a step in the right direction.

Not sure how a fight would make him more of a legit prospect

You want him to fight Foligno? Why? So he can get his head punched in? The guy is massive, there's no reason for Ross to fight him. This isn't old school Don Cherry hockey where you need to prove you're tough. Ross just needs to agitate and get Foligno to punch him in the face while he has the gloves still on. That's what Ross should do.

It's not the fight itself, it would be the willingness to challenge a player like Foligno. If he's going to make it as an NHL player, he's gonna have to play in your face hockey and be willing to battle head-to-head with bigger stronger players.

He doesn't need to fight him, but its the easiest way for him to show he has what it takes to make it in the type of role he'll play in the NHL.
Let's put it this way, people project him as a Darcy Tucker type of player. Do you think Tucker would hesitate in going after a guy like Foligno after the crap he pulled last game.

I personally am tired of watching leaf players getting their ***** handed to them in fights. Since the holwegg acquisition, watching that maniac get treated like a piñata game in and game out was humiliating. Kulemin vs Gleason, komisarek vs lucic, Armstrong Vs seidenberg etc etc. loved having Orr, he was the only one making games vs Boston bearable when he was dressed, the one player who made me proud to be a leaf fan whenever he dropped his gloves. Ross is way out of his weight class, and really has no need to fight foligno. Let Fraser fight him (when he returns) or devane when he's eventually on the team, or broll. Foligno's time will come, leafs got plenty of size/nastiness in the pipeline. No need to throw a small rookie in Ross to the wolves, where his already brittle confidence could take a hit, or worse he could be injured.
