Exactly. He should simply be evaluated at camp, assuming this camp ever materializes.
I also don't understand why the fact that he's played only one full junior season really matters. Clearly, he's evolved beyond where he was at in 2010-11.
I think people have been bullied on this site to the point where they can't accept that we have a legit star prospect and don't believe that they can play right out of the gate.
I honestly wonder if they would've sent P.Kane, Skinner, E.Kane, Duchene etc all back to junior.
Edit: They're probably also of the same mind-set of the previous poster that think we rush all of our prospects.
I honestly think it would be better to leave him in MJ all season, and give him a good look with the Leafs next year. No point rushing him when he's still developing right now. I guess we'll see though.
I wonder what number he will take. We all know Burke's policy on young players taking high numbers. 44 maybe?
I haven't followed much of anything since the lockout but i checked the wjc rosters and Reilly isn't on it? Is this correct or does he still have a chance due to camp ect

He's been invited to camp. Not sure what list you were looking at.

His numbers are now down to 26 points in 32 games. He's fallen considerably off the ppg pace. To anyone who's been watching him, what's going on, should we be worried?
Just adding discussion here, this is not a statement of panic at all.

He is generating chances, still playing well. Just lack of support throughout the team. Only a couple decent forwards on the team really.
Him playing at the WJC should be a give us a good look of what he can do when he has forwards who can finish.

No he's okay. I think it more has to do with Moose Jaw not being a high scoring team and not being one of the better ones in the league. If they dont score much, you cant get points.
I hope he gets traded soon to a contender, maybe Edmonton.

Yeah, 2 teams have fewer goals than MJ. Rielly is apart of 33% of the goals which is pretty good for a defenseman.
Some comparisons:
Hamilton is apart of 33.3%
Ceci - 29.7%
Murphy - 26.8%

Flip side to that is he doesn't play the same minutes. Certainly wouldn't be getting the pk minutes or playing shut down roles that Griff gets in Edmonton

I'd rather see what he can do to contribute to a winning team rather then be the go to player on an average/below average team. He ccould be that difference maker come playoff time and that would be exciting to see.

Definitely, but playing half the game in all situation is great experience. Moose Jaw's pretty awful, so it takes the pressure off him a bit and let's him be more loose in his game.

It would be more exciting to see him suit up for the Marlies in the playoffs
Rielly with a goal and an assist in yesterdays win over the Spokane Chiefs.
Heres a video of the goal yesterday against the Chiefs. Sorry about the **** quality, and the extra noise in the background. First video I've published, so I assumed it would only record the audio from the stream. My mistake.
Btw, gotta love the announcers "AWWWW YEEEEAAA" after Rielly scored haha
a little OT: This Brayden Point kid looks fantastic.

MJ has no offence whatsoever, everything goes through Rielly he's counted on for pretty much everything. Once teams shut him down there isn't much else MJ generates. He's still getting chances.

Couldn't that also put more pressure on him? Thinking if he's not doing something spectacular on the ice his team is going to lose? No matter how bad the team is you still want to try and win.
I'd much rather see him moved to a team that's actually fairly good. But positives and negatives to look at.

Morgan is a great team mate.....and is comfortable with being in the limelight, he is developing nicely and if he was to get traded to a top WHL team he would still get a ton of ice time....
Cant link as im on my phone but Ryan Rishaug (TSN) is reporting on twitter that Burke will let Rielly play at the WJC no matter what happens with the cba.

Yeah, if Rielly makes the team, he will play the WJ's and then join the Leafs

I think that was pretty much a given at this point.
