Otherwise I think he'd definitely have been there. He's the Czech's best chance at a first round pick this year.

I think Jaroslav Pavelka and maybe even Polivka should have been invited as goalies.

What about Langhamer as third stringer? Get him used to the environment for next year when he has a shot at being starter.

Goalies selection is alright IMO. There was no room for everybody, who plays currently some solid hockey in the net.

I'm really curious to see what he will do at this level. He's been simply dominant in the Q so it should be interesting to see what he does against stiffer competition.

The corruption and the politics saddens me, and I am saying this as a outsider looking in for most of the past 25 years now. I remember when I used to be proud to be Czech but every time I read anything from there I cant help but feel embarrassed. I really wish the country turned things around.

I was hoping to see a competitive team this year, showing of the best players the country has to offer but once again greed and money came in to play. And once again I have lost that little bit of desire to cheer the team on and that little bit of Czech that is left in me and that im trying to hold on to dies once again.

For those here who are involved out there in hockey circles, do something about this, make some personal sacrifices and change things for the next generation. Make the people that are the problem, be it in politics, other organizations or hockey pay, take them out even if it means sacrificing your career out there, do the right thing.

And when I speak I am not basing this on the selection of this team, this is just another little reminder of the massive social problems that are plaguing that country.

we don't know what exactly happened. maybe the coach just didn't like them enough to invite. when you pick a team, there is always somebody who should be there according to other people instead of somebody else. last year the US fans were pretty mad about their selection if I'm not mistaken etc. It happens in all countries in all sports.

Yeah the czechs look quite strong this year. im very excited to see how they can do. The top line of jaskin, hertl and frk will be LETHAL! VERY unfortunate that stransky isnt there but hopefully the boys can still get the job done. Could possibly be a 3-way battle for 1st spot in that group since the swedes are gonna be missing some key players as well. Klefbom, Brodin and possibly Zibanejad. The Finns look unreal too. Gonna be awesome!!!

And is there a chance that Kostalek can still play? Or is he that badly injured?

Camp starts in a week and he still hasn't started playing. No chance he will be at WJC.

Hyka has been something of a disappointment in Gatineau so far this season. Expected him to be a Top-10 offensive player in the Q. He is outplayed by Reway and Émile Poirier so far.

Yes he is. Btw Stransky was 2+2 yesterday, making his snub from the Czech camp look even more stupid.

Another 2 + 1 for Stransky in todays game to complete the weekend sweep over Regina , the Blades outscored them 15-0 in those two games lol. Just wish I could watch him at the WJC.......

Dominik kubalik? He's only 17 and not playing that amazing. But I saw him play in one Sudbury game and he was very good but got very little minutes. The czech players that have been chosen are better and more experienced then him. He will be there next year for sure though.
