Another good move for Philly, acquire Jeff Parke from Seattle.

I don't think he necessarily asked for a trade, but he did want to be closer to his family (he's from the Philly area). Nonetheless, Seattle needed to move some money, they're still over the cap even with this deal.

Maicon Santos to Chicago is the only player chosen.

Stage Two is next Friday.

If you select a player in stage one, you inherit his current contract. If you select a player in stage two, you are able to re-negotiate the contract.

Anybody give me a scouting report on Santos? It looks like Oduro is on the way out, wants to start.

MacMath is still with Philadelphia, he's only training with Everton.

Meh player that will disappoint for 80 mins then an amazing strike makes you wonder who this guy is. I really don't like him as a player and find outside his shot brings very little to the game and tends to "float". Might be alright as a bench player is overpaid for that role though. There is a reason this is his fifth team in like 3 years.

Really like what Philly is doing. Parke will help the back line that might be losing Valdes. But if they keep him Valdes/Parke is a nice pairing (edit: Forgot they also have Soumare so lots of potential options there), which also allows you to move Okugo back to DM to replace Gomez who is gone and Caroll who is aging. Then LeToux comes back and I think he is the perfect partner for JMac. As he will do all the work on and off the ball and allow Jack to sneak in an poach goals.

Just need to figure out what is going on with Freddie and what they are going to do about the AM spot.

Ok, he's a good young keeper...

Philly should do well next year.

Toronto FC to trade Johnson and Kocic

Toronto FC agrees to send Ryan Johnson and Milos Kocic to the Portland Timbers for backup GK Joe Bendik and allocation money.

If the Rumor is true its good for TFC It clears a lot of cap and frees up 2 international spots.

Please happen. Dude is a disgrace to the league.

If this turns out to be true, the Kaka race heavily leans towards NYRB's favor.

Can't wait to see what Porter is going to do with the Timbers. Even after that whole Olympic Qualifying debacle (which I won't entirely blame on him, but that's another story), he's a hell of a coach.

Adding Harrington, W. Johnson, R. Johnson and Kocic is a hell of an offseason so far.

Just wondering here...how important is allocation money? Is that just a fancier term for cash, or cap space or something?

Allocation money is money from the central office that can be used to pay down the cap hit of a player. Teams can get that money through a variety of ways, but it typically comes to the fore as a trade asset.

Meh....bunch of average MLS players. Only Kocic is really an upgrade on what they had. And have addressed their biggest need the backline...namely CB's.....

(don't rate Harrington anymore)

Allocation doubles as cash and cap. It can be used to trade for a player as well as used to pay down a teams cap to get below the cap. IE Cap is 3 mil...teams payroll is 3.5 if you have 500k allocation you can pay it down to get under the cap.
