whats wrong with it ? You have boo birds everywhere. Slovan is no exception.

Chara gets regular boos in 29 NHL arenas (ok maybe not in Ottawa), nothing he isnt used to or he couldnt deal with. Those boos are badge of honour they say. Good to see Slovan fans are knowledgeable and recognise Lev´s best/most dangerous player

Definitely Višňovský best Slovan player tonight. The best players are chosen by journalists attending the game and their picks are sometimes strange. Voráček was a good selection for Lev, though.

Good refereeing -- this Finnish referee Rönn is really among the best. Russian refereeing pairs often seem to be penalizing trivialities, needlessly disrupting the flow of the game, but in games involving Rönn, the calls seem right on the mark. And it was an intense "derby" fight tonight.

That huge white blanket destroys the effect. If there has to be a blanket, make it Slovan's colour, sky-blue, for heaven's sake (pun intended).

I wonder how many fans will bring the scarves back to the next Slovan game (they were handed out for free tonight). Unless Slovan will now be giving them away for free at every game. There will likely be a slightly different crowd at every Slovan game, with Slovan tickets now being sold via electronic auctions.

(Tonight's tickets against Lev were auctioned off at the highest price so far; I hear that paying €37 for tonight's game was quite normal. The upcoming games against Ak Bars and Salavat Yulayev were auctioned off at €24 and more, Neftekhimik at €22 and up.)

looks like Slovan is doing really well!! Like I predicted a playoff contender. Also if they manage to charge 30 Euros per seat per game on average, then (30E)x(10,055)=301,650. with further expanstion we could assume at least 60 regular season games, so (301,650)x(30home games)= 9,049,500

9 mil just from tickets. Then we have merchandise and food, beer sold at games. Advertisements. Also in another thread I heard KHL TV might be paying dividents to its clubs. Which came out to a few million if I remember correctly.
It could be that Slovan will have around 15 million euro so $19.4mil income
and thats excluding the playoffs!

I know these are rough numbers and there are variables, but still it is a very good prospect. Top teams in other European leagues operate on $11million budgets

This surge may be interesting to explore when talking about Finnish and other teams. If Milan generated even a fraction of Slovan, that from nothing would be very impressive and certainly alot easier to sponsor.

If teams like Cologne would join the league (they have an average ticket price of 35 euro) they could finance their team with ticket prices only. That's pretty nice. Let's say 30 home games, 16.000 fans and 35 euro that would be 16.8 mio !!

Ouch, you are correct, thanks. Found the figure, its $US36.5 m

Quote:
Also, in 2011-12, each team could sign up to two "designated players" whose salaries are not counted against the cap. The KHL salary cap was (until the 2011-12 KHL season) a soft cap, with a luxury tax amounting to 30% of the payroll that is over the cap paid to the special stabilization account, which helps KHL teams facing financial hardship. From the 2012-13 KHL season onward, the KHL salary cap is a hard cap and, for 2012-13, is set at $US36.5 million.
