Even the municipality it's based in only has 1000 people within 75km^2. Crazy. Must be a lot of people driving in from nearby areas to catch a game.

Yet people in Phoenix won't drive 40 minutes to Glendale to see a Coyotes game. I wonder why the owners are losing money.

No one here loses his job over this (or any other lockout signing).

The players signed for the season all get their paycheck, no matter how many lockout players there are signed, they maybe just cant play or get less icetime.

The case of Schneider is a bit special bc he's got a swiss visa, which means he doesn't count as foreigner (max 3 per game and max 5 on the roster). Nonetheless, he's just pushing Nolan Schaefer from his starter position for the time he's here, this might have also happened for various other reasons.

Yes please!

I seen a tweet his first game he made 35 saves and they won 4-3, and I think 2nd game he saved a similar amount but they lost 4-1.

Schneider was our player rep... wonder if he went overseas to get warmed up because he had a feeling the deal might be made by a certain point in Dec?

Cory Schneider wanted work and he's getting it. Stopped 42 of 43 shots for Ambri-Piotta, but loses 1-0 to SC Bern in Swiss League. #Canucks
Works out to be 97.7% SV.

You're still in stage 1 of grieving. Anger coming up next.

Cory Schneider turns aside 45 of 46 shots and Ambri-Piotta beats Henrik Zetterberg & EV Zug 4-1 in Swiss League action today. #Canucks
More impressive:

In past two games, on consecutive days, Schneider has stopped 87 of 89 shots. #Canucks

Just another day at the office for Schneider.

I would have Schneider in my top 3 Vezina picks for next season, along with Lundqvist and Quick.

When Schneider gets into the zone, he is a technical machine in the crease. Even Luongo admits that Schneider is going to be a superstar in the league.

The bulk of those shots are obviously not NHL quality, but 45 saves is 45 saves.

Not convinced that an NHL shot is substantially different from a non-NHL shot when you account for the difference in defence. On top of that he's playing for one of the worst teams so he's seeing more shots of higher quality than average.
